A must-have for the computer library. Simple, elegant writing. I would recommend reading through the book to get the general idea of computer operation and troubleshooting before you have a problem, if possible. Then you can go back to the specific sections or chapters to handle specific issues.

Overall I would rate this book as good. Lots of information to help one dig through common problems. However, it fell short of solving my problem... may have to turn to a trained tech for resolution.

This is a good general book for understanding PC's and would be very informative for most readers. But its of limited use if you have a problem. The general benefit is understanding how the computer works. I don't agree with the author's pro Windows 10 view. Windows 10 in itself, with its infamous "updates" is a major source of PC problems; at least it was for me. ... show more
