Affordable compact NV
Model: REC45
Because I keep chickens, rodents can become an issue. I purchased this Recon45 NV scope/red dot to replace a DIY version I made out of a red dot and NV camera mounted to a picatinny mount. The Recon45 is compact and looks/feels well made. It says it's 6x zoom but it doesn't really seem like it. Maybe 4x. The image is decent enough, but it seems slightly grainy in NV mode especially looking a a rat-sized object at 15 yards. It's not bad considering the size of he screen. I mounted it directly to the Picatinny rail with no problem. The first round was about 6-8 inches low at my 15 yard zero. The optic has a note stating you have to zero at 25 yards, but I'm glad I didn't considering the placement of the first rounds. The Ir illuminator has a few brightness options but the lowest setting doesn't really help and the subsequent increases are a bit bright and white out the screens image a little. It could be due to using this at under 25 yards and through a window, so some of the IR might be shinning back from objects near me. I'm going to grab a separate IR illuminator and mount it forward to see if it helps reduce that. When you first turn on the optic, the screen can be a bit bright in the dark, so I cover it with my hand during the start up screen. The instructions were printed on a tiny card and hard to see. Its works but I kinda agree with other reviewers 1-6x doesn’t really feel like 6x, and the picture quality isn’t the best but for the price it’s not too bad, but something I notice that nobody else mentioned so it might just be mine but when I fire the screen turns purple for a split second so it’s getting kinda annoying in daytime especially when the picture quality it’s so great and zero retention is kinda off but it could be me not used to sighing in a scope on a X and Y axis plane but other then that it’s works just don’t expect amazing quality ... show more

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! Real person here. I got it for my .22 rifle and was trying to sight it in and it shut off. Will not turn on at all. Was fully charged. Pure junk!

For the money its really not bad. The zoom 1-6 is definitly not accurate. I feel like mine ranges from a 2x to 3.5x. If your night hunting raccoons or something at 25 yards. Heck yea this could be quite handy for you. Ill keep it and use it for something forsure. But its not great. Good size and heft to it. Feels sturdy. No lag, clear picture in day, good low light.

For the price I dont know how anybody could complain. This thing is buit tough. There is no lag and the day and night modes are both good. Night is little gritty but not bad. Im sure it'll put the shot where it needs to go. Don't need the details lol. I am not running this on a firearm. Im sure it could be. It says it's rifle rated. So far so good. I wish it came on automatically but it doesn't take long. Quick button push. I usually don't write reviews period but some of these reviews on here are from haters lol.
