  • Investment in Safety: Choosing Triple Eight for a Hospital-Free Skating Experience
Color: Black Size: Medium
As a devoted father to two vibrant daughters aged 5 and 3, the recent resurgence of inline skating prompted me to delve into the realm of protective gear. Having spent my teenage years skating daily and now rekindling this passion alongside my daughters, ensuring our safety became paramount. This led me down the path of comprehensive research, culminating in the acquisition of the Triple Eight Saver Series Pad Set—an investment that has truly transformed our skating experience. Drawing from my previous skating endeavors, I understood the significance of protective gear. While my years of experience aided me, I also recognized the need for dependable safeguarding for my daughters, whose boundless energy and enthusiasm outmatched their skill level. The choice to opt for the Triple Eight brand was fueled by a plethora of recommendations, ranging from seasoned skaters on forums to trusted friends who shared my ardor for skating. This brand's reputation preceded itself, promising excellence in both protection and comfort. Given the variety of sizes available, I equipped each family member with a set that tailored to our respective proportions, ranging from the youngest to the most seasoned skater. Our first day back on skates was a testament to the value of the Triple Eight Saver Series Pad Set. Falls and tumbles were inevitable, yet the reassurance of durable protection ensured that not a single scratch marred our exhilarating experience. From the nimble wristsavers to the kneesavers and elbowsavers, each piece proved its worth, absorbing the impact of falls with remarkable efficiency. What sets Triple Eight apart is not just the undeniable efficacy of their products, but also their commitment to wearer comfort. The pads snugly fit without chafing or causing irritation—a testament to the brand's thoughtful design. Unlike some competitors' offerings, which tend to become cumbersome behind the knees, Triple Eight's pads remained unobtrusive, even during extended skating sessions. Quality craftsmanship manifests in every facet of this pad set. Durable materials withstand the rigors of falls, while the thoughtful construction ensures a secure fit that doesn't compromise movement or comfort. The sense of security is palpable, reaffirming that every investment in Triple Eight is an investment in our well-being. In conclusion, the Triple Eight Saver Series Pad Set has revolutionized our skating journey, transforming it into an experience that prioritizes safety without sacrificing comfort. Whether reliving my past or guiding my daughters in their new endeavors, this protective ensemble has established itself as an indispensable part of our skating routine. With Triple Eight, we glide with confidence, secure in the knowledge that we can fully embrace the joys of skating without the looming fear of accidents. ... show more

  • Worth the money from just one fall!
Color: Shaved Ice Size: Medium
I am so glad I bought these. I started getting back into roller skating after like 10 years, and had my first fall yesterday and I fell hard lol. I have a tendency to put my hands down when I fall doing any balance sport, which you are NOT supposed to do because you can break your wrist (which I've done). I instinctively put my hands down yet again but the wrist guard completely broke my fall and prevented any damage to my wrist! The plastic piece on the palm absorbed a lot of the impact, and because I had it wrapped tight, my wrist didn't bend, and my body weight rolled onto my elbow pads. I sat there for a minute pretty stunned because I was not in any pain. 10/10 worth buying just because of protecting my wrists from that fall. I read mixed reviews about the sizing, so here's how it went for me! I think it's pretty decently true to size. I ordered a medium. I am 5,5 and 1/2, 135lbs, my upper body is a little smaller than my lower (for example, I am a size small up top and medium on the bottom in clothes). The knee pads fit great, however I do not strap them as tight as they'll go because it would squeeze me a little too much. The wrist pads are great too just with the opposite on the straps, I feel like I could stand to strap them a teeeeensy bit tighter if it would let me which tracks with the fact that I have a smaller upper body. But I wouldn't spend the money to get a small set just for smaller wrist bands. Elbow pads fit just right! Overall, cannot complain about a thing -- they are so cute and vibrant, they work fantastic and I feel so safe when skating! ... show more

  • Good
Color: Pacific Beach Size: Small
Keeps you safe! Can't even feel it if you fall. Fits me well, although the bands on the elbow pads feel a little awkward. Can take a beating.

  • Good gear for your average skating newbie
Color: Sunset Size: Medium
I bought the color Sunset on sale for $20 and I think it’s great for that price, although I’m not familiar enough with safety gear to tell you if the RRP of $50 is still good value. I weigh under 120 pounds and I’m about 5’6, and the medium size fits me well. I think I could have sized down to small for the wrist guards (they are the only item that changes size, the knee and elbow guards are “universal” size), but there’s enough velcro for me to get it on snug (make sure it's tight enough to keep your wrists straight!), although I wish there were a little bit more - if you weigh less than 120 pounds and are taller than 5’5, I would go for the small. Some reviewers have posted pics showing that the knee pads were super small and tight on them, so definitely check the user photos to determine if these are right for your body type. Some also say the sizing is inconsistent. I’m a beginner roller skater and have fallen a few times (indoors only), and I’m happy with the performance so far. My wrists feel protected, the straps are comfortable enough to wear for a few hours and don’t make me sweat much because there’s no extra fabric on the elbows or backs of knees, and the colors are cute and vibrant. I’m not planning to do anything super dangerous, but I’ll try to update this review if they fail or fall apart the first time I fall on concrete. Having said that, I was looking for cheap gear and I don’t expect these to last forever. The stitching and material on the wrist guards looks a bit flimsy, but it's lightweight mesh for breathability. If I were a park skater looking for very high durability, I would invest in something more expensive. ... show more
