Description

The Trijicon miniature rifle optic (mro) is a reflex-style, sealed sight intended for use on rifles, carbines, and shotguns to provide fast target acquisition. It is designed to be used with both eyes open, providing the operator with maximum situational awareness. The large aperture and tapered light path maximizes the viewing area in such a small optic, allowing for fast target engagement - especially from non-standard shooting positions. Advanced lens coatings and electronics produce a crisp Red dot. The brightness control dial on the mro is specifically designed for ambidextrous usage. With a mid- adjustment "off" position and eight discernible brightness settings, this brightness dial allows for quick and ergonomic adjustments. The mro features fully protected adjusters that maintain zero even during rough handling, and can be adjusted without the need for special tools. Hard-anodized, forged 7075-T6 housing is fully sealed and waterproof, providing durability in demanding conditions. The mro Patrol includes an Ocular lens cover to protect glass from damage and to reduce glare and Reflections as well as an objective cover and ARD. Package includes: - 1 Ocular cap - 1 objective cap - 1 ARD - 1 Trijicon logo sticker (PR15) - 1 lens cloth - 1 manual - 1 warranty card. • A solid product if you need it, but cheaper alternatives work just as well for most
Style: MRO with Low Mount
MRO is the solution if you want rapid target acquisition in all lighting conditions, and don't care about magnification. In that sense, it's great primarily for home defense shotguns and carbine-length rifles. Perhaps the most significant downside of the MRO is that optically, it's OK, but not particularly amazing: it's a very simple contraption that uses a reflection of a side-mounted LED - and so, if you crank it up to maximum brightness in a dark place, you're going to see a lot more glare than you'd expect from a scope. You will have more glare if you mount the MRO closer to your eye, so where possible, you want to mount it closer to the business end of a gun. Still, given this, it stands to reason to ask yourself if it's worth paying $400 or so for this product, when quite a few other brand-name products of this kind are available closer to $100-$200. The main argument in favor of paying more is that this product is just ridiculously tough, with a hefty cast-metal body that likely can be dropped on hard surfaces from a good height without breaking. In addition to many similarly-looking tube-style red dots, the MRO also faces some competition from the LED-powered variants Trijicon RMR, which have the huge benefit of automatic on-off and brightness functionality, saving you time on fiddling with the knobs (although works best for firearms that are stored in the dark); and with cheap open-frame red dots, such as Burris - which tend to fly off shotguns and generally don't hold up well to abuse - but don't obstruct your view as much. ... show more

  • Durable, reliable, always on serious use sight.
This is the best value serious use red dot sight on the market. The field of view is much better than a t1, t2 or pro. The glass has a slight greenish tint, and the fishbowling often talked about is very nominal as to be unnoticeable while shooting fast. The dot is very usable with night vision settings and gets bright enough for midday use. The adjustments are slightly mushy, but they are set and forget and do not have caps to loose and will not get bumped on accident. The brightness adjustment is ideal as it can be operated with either hand. Battery life test is in progress, I keep in constant on at setting 4. The included mount is solid, the only reason to upgrade would be for a QD mount. When switching from this optic to a smaller one you feel as though you are looking through a tube. The 2moa dot allows speed up close and precision out to max effective range. Dot is crisp and clear. Overall, this is a great serious use rds, and at the price only competes with the pro, while punching above its weight at optics like the aimpoint comp and t series micro dots. ... show more

  • Good or LE
Style: MRO with No Mount
So far, so good. Straight out of the box, it hits a 2 inch group high and right at 25/100. After just a few clicks, I have it at a 1 inch group dead on at at 100 yards. Being in LE, the battery life appealed a lot to me. I just leave it on the "3" setting and I know I will only need to change the battery in a year or so. The word on the streets is the Trijicon MRO is one of the toughest dots on the market. When I sold my eotech back to Eotech (because of their little mishap...*cough* lying *cough* ) I was looking for a good, quality, sight that would meet my expectations in the line of work I do. I cannot afford to buy cheap and have it fail on me; from this, I bought the MRO. The sight picture is smaller than the eotech I had, so I just moved it closer to the rear sight, which made the sight picture a little larger. The glass is extremely clear and crisp. You will be happy with this sight. My philosophy is that you buy quality once and you won't have to buy again. The MRO is quality, so just buy it already. ... show more

  • I love it!
It's a Trijicon. I love it! I have extended my previous review from December 2016 because I have purchased my second MRO, my second ACOG TA31 and my first RMR Type 2 adjustable LED these last few days, not mentioning the night sights, HD iron sights I have in my handguns. I stand for Trijicon as they have the best sights and optics ever and also because it is a matter of live and death. with this being said, I am trusting my life to Trijicon. So my best tip is: Train, train, train as your life depends on it. The ACOG and the RMR (45 degrees) are going together as main and backup sights on my new project. New update, my “new” MRO was an open box sold as new. Beware of some sellers offering big sales on opened boxes and showroom items. I’m waiting for another MRO, it will be a Patrol version, I will keep you posted soon. 9/23: This is an update, the good news is: I got the MRO Patrol and it is absolutely awesome! On the other hand, last 6/27 my sister surprised me with a late birthday gift, an MRO purchased “new” from Woot; long story short, we got scammed with a used RDS in a scratched open trijicon box, the worse was to find that 1 of the holes had the threads gone. Seller is no longer in Amazon… be careful guys who you are buying from! These experiences made me rethink about my prime membership ... show more

  • Will turn a Mall Ninja into an Operator!
Style: MRO with No Mount
Bought from ABCD Sales and no fake! Genuine Trijicon MRO at a reasonable price. Good 1. Lightweight 2. Small profile 3. Little tube effect unlike the Aimpoints. The larger objective lens helps minimize the tube effect. 4. Cheaper than an Aimpoint. 5. Henderson Defense out in Las Vegas (machine gun rentals) have used their MRO for years and 100,000+ rounds in their MRO and it still runs like a champ! 6. Long Battery life! 5 years on setting 3! 7. Protected diode. RMR’s, Fast Fires etc have an exposed diode. If dirt/mid gets in there you are out of action soldier! This model protects the diode and a wipe of the lenses and you are back in business! Bad: 1. Parallax. While not as bad as models under serial number #89,000 there is still a bit. 2. Slight magnification. Not as bad as early models but it is slight. Good news is you have to look for it, probably wont notice it. 3. Does not come with a scope cover like their ACOGS do. 4. Slight bluish tint. Interestingly, the closer the red dot is to my eye, the more the blue tint disappears and with both eyes open and dot closer to my eye, the weaker eye picks up more situational awareness/terrain/threats around the scope I’ve looked at lots of red dots and this is the lightest non tube effect red dot on the market! ACOG strong and red dot fast! ... show more

  • Thumbs Up! Thumbs Up!
Style: MRO with Low Mount
First impression, it looked bigger on YouTube. Overall it looks solid, has a small form factor, and fits well on any rail I've put it on. With the current mount, it sits too low to be used with any backup sights on an AR. There is a slight magnification, not a true 1x optic. To me that provides a nice clear view of my target. As soon as my Ultimak M9 and RS AK306 arrive I will update this review for Yugo NPAP customers. Compared to the Aimpoint, the money saved with this optic allows you to buy additional required mounts for your intended rifle platform. Update Nov 2016: For me , the MRO works best with the RS Regulate mount. I've put about 1000 rounds through this. No point of aim, point of impact shift. The MRO night vision settings work well. Still impressed with this optic. ... show more

  • Not perfect, but a very good red dot
Style: MRO with Low Mount
Having owned my MRO for about 10 months now, I definitely feel it's a good optic for the money and am generally happy with my purchase. Having heard of some of the QC issues on this model, I was definitely a bit hesitant at first, but mine has performed very well so far and have a lot of confidence in Trijicon that they stand behind their products. All that being said, the MRO is not a perfect red dot and if you are seriously interested in purchasing it, there are a few things you should know about it beforehand. If you can live with these issues, then you will probably be very happy with it. Bluish Hue: The optical clarity of the MRO is quite excellent, just like every other Trijicon optic I've used, but when shooting with both eyes open, there is a slight, but noticeable bluish hue to the lens. I have however found this coloration is more noticeable indoors than when used in natural light outdoors. Though I personally prefer a more colorless optic, I don't think it's an issue and hasn't adversely affected the function of the optic on any practical level. Magnification: For me, this is the biggest con of the MRO and something that caught me by surprise when I first tried it. This optic has a very, very slight, but noticeable amount of magnification to it. When shooting with both eyes open, the closer you are to the target, the more noticeable the magnification becomes. On a practical level, it doesn't really affect function for me, though if I were using it more in very close quarters, I might have more of an issue with it. Regardless, for $500 +/-, it's a little disappointing considering I've used Holosun optics that were less than half the cost of the MRO that didn't have these issues, are perfectly clear and close to, if not as durable. Glare: Yes. In certain situations there is some glare to this optic and if you crank up the brightness too much in darker spaces, you will notice this, and in some cases, a halo effect. Glare will also be an issue when exposed to direct sunlight. Part of this I attribute to the large objective and feel that's just a price you pay, although I imagine some of it may be reduced with the use of a kill flash. Regardless, when using the correct brightness settings for your environment, most of these potential issues shouldn't give you any problems. Lens covers: There are not a whole lot of options for lens covers for the MRO and the ones you can find are severely overpriced in my opinion. Fortunately, I found a tip online that suggested the Butler Creek #17 for the front objective and sure enough, it works great! Highly recommended. Summary: Overall I definitely like my MRO very much. But if you're seriously in the market for one, I would strongly suggest trying it out first before buying and especially, comparing it to other red dots like the AimPoint Micro as there are distinct Pros/Cons to each that will likely influence your preference. Lastly, unless you are LEO or Military, I would also suggest also comparing it to some of the Primary Arms / HoloSun optics offer some very competitive options at less than half the cost. ... show more

  • Angled front lense is a correct installation. Angled front lense is a correct installation.
Style: MRO with No Mount
Updated* JUST NOTICED FRONT LENSE IS CROSS THREADED BUT!! ( I called Trijicon and this is actually the correct installation. The lense is installed on an angle to bounce the red dot back to the user and does not effect the product's water tight design. Trijicon says many customers call in thinking it's a cross threaded front lense. ) Seems very durable but I haven't taken it to the range just yet. I made this purchase due to the MRO's track record and trijicons good reputation to deliver a high quality product. One design flaw that didn't hit me until I had the MRO in hand is the lack of flip cap lense cover options. They're available for the front lenses but there are no options for the smaller rear lense. I purchased a trijicon neoprene MRO cover for some protection until I can buy a set of the rubber tango down covers though they dont seem as reliable as a good spring loaded flip up lense cover. If I would have known what I do now I would have just bought a "MRO patrol optic" that is made with spring loaded flip caps. ... show more
