Description

TriboTEX is a synthetic nanomaterial that reverses wear in your diesel engine. Using TriboTEX reduces your cars fuel consumption, prolongs the life of your engine and protects the environment by reducing CO2 emissions. TriboTEX is a revolutionary breakthrough in engine coating technology. Conceptually the technology of anisotropic nanoparticles is straight forward. The material science however is quite sophisticated; engineered, synthetic nanosheets are designed to be slick on one side and sticky on the other. During normal engine operation, when added to oil, these nanosheets attach to metal surfaces (sticky side down), particle by particle, leaving the slick sides facing outward. So only slippery parts glide on each other. After >500 miles, of normal driving, internal components are coated with a porous, lubricious tribofilm exhibiting excellent embedability and oil retention. The slippery surface contains select catalysts, incorporated by design, facilitating the formation of a Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) cap on top. Originally these self assembling coatings were developed for improving performance of hip implants than gearboxes under the grueling demands of wind turbines. The TriboTEX platform was constructed with >$3 million dollars of research and development support from the National Science Foundation, Air Force and NASA. I used this in my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel. I have put approximately 3,000 miles on this vehicle since installing the TriboTex diesel formulation. Without question, my engine idles smoother - the previous slight vibration that I could feel in the steering wheel while at idle is gone. The engine is quieter at all speeds. I have also seen that the engine coolant temperature indicator now shows a small but definite decrease in the indicated engine temperature over its historical indication. I am experiencing better fuel mileage, but I can't say with 100% certainty that the increase is due to the TriboTex. I CAN say that my mileage certainly is not worse because of the addition of TriboTex. I am well-enough satisfied with the improvements that I've seen from TriboTex in this vehicle, that I've spent the money to purchase and install it in my other 2 vehicles as well. ... show more

    • Doesn't seem to do anything for me.
So I take my 1 star review back. I have since bought more of this product as my skid steer and duramax completley changed how they run, for the better. I now run this in everything I own including my small mowers. I did not notice a difference in my wifes 2016 Subaru though, it never did anything but that is a newer engine. I did notice on the smaller engines I actually had to increase the idle RPM as they idled much smoother and lower after application. Don't be like me, make sure you wait long enough to see/feel/hear results. Also if its a brand new car I wouldn't expect to notice anything but I am sure its helping. Good luck! Old Review: I was hoping to do a good review. I bought some for my Duramax and a piece of equipment I have. I waited 500 miles on my truck, I noticed no difference in engine sound or in mpg, it is exactly the same. My skid steer I could never do a fuel consumption test as I have too many variables. I don't think I noticed a engine noise difference on this either, I recorded the Duramax but not the skid steer, duramax sounds exactly the same. I own a bunch more trucks/equipment and was really hoping to notice something. Maybe I should of tried one of my gas trucks first but I don't see any benefits on my diesel. ... show more

    • Actually works!
I was very skeptical about this but decided to take the plung and buy it i used it on a very high hour john deere tractor that made a clacking noise when worked hard neither i or the deere tech could figure out what it was i added this and let it run and circulate while fueling and then went to work not sure if there's any more power but the noise never showed up and I think cold starts might be slightly better not 100% on that but it does seem a little easier to start. But definitely quieter no idea on fuel economy because it's a tractor don't exactly have a good way to calculate that but I am impressed that it got rid of that noise and would recommend it probably going to try it on my diesel trucks too. ... show more

AT THIS POINT I HAVE RAN UP 4200 MILES ON THE TRIBOTEX , 2002 FORD F350 7.3 DIESEL, NO QUIETING DOWN OF MOTOR SOUND, USED A DB LEVEL METER, FUEL MILEAGE THE SAME, LAST WEEK SENT OUT A SAMPLE FOR ANALYSIS RECEIVED BACK TODAY, THERE WAS ADDITIONAL ADDITIVES NOTED FROM PREVIOUS SAMPLES ON FILE THERE WAS A EVER SLIGHT DIFFERENCE IN METAL WEAR FOUND IN SAMPLE COMPARED TO PREVIOUS SAMPLES , TRUCK IS USED FOR TOWING CARS SO FUEL MILEAGE IS NOT A STABLE OR FAIR ANALYSIS BUT SHOULD HAVE SEEN NOTABLE DIFFERENCES AT LEAST SOME WHERE. AFTER INSTALL OF NEW OIL WITH TRIBO TEX I DID SEE BLOW BY DECREASE FOR THE FIRST 3800 MILES AND IS NOW STARTING BACK TO WHERE IT WAS BEFORE. SO AT THIS POINT IT DOESNT DO WHAT IT CLAIMS IN A NAVSTAR 7.3 DIESEL THAT TAKES 15 QUARTS OF LUBRICANT ... show more

actuality the only one on the market that worth consideration. One application and very common eviction in 7.3 power stroke is the thing of the past with new acquired smoothness. Generally this engine is loud and even was discontinued because it is too much so but TriboTEX definitely makes it overall smoother and perceivably quieter. It sure is smaller volume so less worry of diluting your stock oil or dumping volume of things that can disrupt stock oil additives. ... show more

I used it in my Ford F350 with the 7.3 and I noticed about a 1mpg decrease in fuel consumption. My exhaust is really loud so I could not tell if the engine ran any quieter. I was worried about it being compatible with the HEUI fuel injection system, so I contacted TriboTEX and they said it would work. TriboTEX was quick and efficient with their response. Product was delivered days before the initial expected arrival date. After 1,000 miles of driving, I am impressed with the results. First I put it in my 2001 Outback 2.5 L and it has on head that makes quite a bit of noise and I quieted down within a week of driving to and from work and the engine ran smoother and seemed to have more get up and go. So I bought one for my wife's car my diesel ford truck and my 7.4 L big block in my boat. My truck is quieter and smoother. ... show more
