The Tremont Rustic Farmhouse Swing Arm lamps are perfect for our bedsides! I had my eye on them quite a while before placing the order. This isn't a cheaply low-end lamp. I bought this lamp for the elegant and luxury look and feel. Also, I go for this lamp for the dimmer feature. The lamp is installed now and I can't be happier. Yes, it is a high-end lamp just by the elegant look and when you feel it. The dimmer works great.     • Beautiful, sturdy, stays right where you put it
I love this lamp. Found the stud and mounted it with screws into the stud. Unlike many of the others, this is sturdy and firm. Moves well, stays where put. I've placed it next to the bed to free up nitestand space. It is handsome and not gaudy. It is well-made. It has a farther extension than most, perfect for those of us with motorized bed base. I have the turn-knob on the wall portion turned all the way up, and use an outlet plug-in with remote control to turn on and off. I keep an old-style energy efficient bulb in here that is dim on startup and slowly gets brighter. Those are actually perfect for nightstands. I have one spare for when this one dies. I don't think they make them anymore, the bulbs today are all instant-on to full strength. Most of the wall lamps for $50 or $70 get reviews about 'too flimsy' or don't bolt to the wall securely enough. Spend a little extra and get something that is a delight. If someone 'accidentally' uses it to catch their fall or get out of bed, it's not going to do any damage on this puppy. ... show more

    • nice for next to the bed.
I was afraid it would be too large for next to the bed but the scale is perfect. Very pretty but the arms are so stiff I can barely get them to move. I realize they can't be too loose or they would swing around at random but these take a long of strong arming to get into position and forget about just pushing them back with one arm when you are finished reading. I can't decide if WD40 will help or I should just take it down and return which I really hate to do because I like the way it looks... ... show more
