I live in Texas and have had my experiences with a great number of poisonous snakes. I have to be very careful when moving things in the yard or in my barn because the possibility of coming face to face with a copperhead. These chaps have given me a greater sense of safety when working outdoors. They are very sturdy and well make. I have not been assaulted by any snakes yet, so I cannot attest to their effectiveness. I do recommend them to those who are exposed to dangerous snakes or other critters. Well worth the money.

This was the first pair of snake gaiters that I have tried, but they didn't work well for me. I'm a smaller person (5'6"), and I couldn't get these to fit my legs. I couldn't get them tight enough to provide coverage while also allowing me to walk normally. Additionally, there were gaps in the coverage that they provided. They may work for larger people, but I couldn't get them attached in a way that provided sufficient protection and maneuverability for me.

I’ve picked up a hunting hobby over the last couple years. This has meant a lot more time taking solo trips off trail in rocky leaf covered terrain. I felt like it was time to get some added protection. I’m not worried about the snakes I see, but the ones I don’t see. The best snakebite treatment is to not get bit. I spent nearly a full day wearing these over hiking pants where the heat reached upwards of 95 degrees. The pros were they didn’t slip down on me, provided good coverage with the type of boots I was wearing, and were fairly comfortable. The only con is it made me even hotter on an already hot day. For me, that was to be expected, and was worth the tradeoff. I also really liked that it came in a camo pattern.

These fit well and are easy to put on and take off. They don't feel cumbersome, and provide a nice level of protection from not only snakes but also with flying rocks kicked up by the weed eater. Would recommend to anyone weed eating in tall brush.

While I have not tested these yet with an actual snake bite and I hope that I don't have to, these seem like they will work to protect from a snake bit. The gaiters are comfortable to wear and seem to have pretty good coverage for the lower leg.
