While the outer box was fine. The thinner MDF panel was damaged. This is too bulky to repack and return. Updated after assembly to 4 stars since, while the thinner MDF was damaged, it is just the floor of the drawer that is hidden in the base. So it is not a big deal. A star is still deducted for inefficient assembly instructions and parts that are not labelled. The single page of instructions state something to the effect of: The parts are not labelled but can be distinguished by the number of screw holes. The base is also not sturdy enough to as the stand can be top heavy so anchoring to a wall may be necessary. ... show more

    • Lots of screws!
This book case is cute and it it’s just right for our needs. But here are a few things that might help you decide if this is for you. It has a ton of screws - it would have taken forever to put together if I didn’t have a small drill. We had to look up a video to put two of the sections together because the instructions didn’t include those steps. The directions in general are vague. The base is narrow so it needs to be able to lean against a wall and you need to balance the books so it doesn’t tip over. Otherwise we’re happy with the purchase- it’s easy for my kids to shove their books back onto the bookcase which means fewer books on the floor - that’s a win! ... show more

This is the first time I have purchased an item that had to be assembled and there were no good directions and the parts were not labeled. The picture directions that were there had chinese or some crazy language I couldn't read. I asked someone to help me or it would still be sitting in a stack at my house. They looked at it and said, I am not sure I can even put it together and if I can't you can just send it back. Thankfully they got it because I really liked it and wanted to keep it. It does say you can request an instruction video, but I didn't think I would need it until I opened it and saw no labeling or good instructions. By then I was ready to assemble it and didn't want to wait to get the video. It is taller than I expected and I wouldn't recommend having it with children around unless you secure it to the wall because it can very easily be tipped over. Not going to lie - this was incredibly hard to put together. Took me a good 2 hours. Seems mostly sturdy but most (if not all) of the pieces came with chipped paint already or cracks. its fine enough to keep because I don’t really want to go through the hassle of returning it and ordering something different ... show more

Easy to put together. The gold screws make it look 'rock n roll' with the teal. I purchased this to hold my music CD's (yeah, I still have those things). Holds a lot of CD's/DVDs. Is stable sitting on a wood floor, but you'll want it next to a wall to deter someone from knocking it over. Really like this item and am thinking of buying a black one for my DVD collection. This was a gift for our granddaughter. It arrived damaged and could not be put together. I would of liked to talk to someone and reorder the damaged pieces, but according to your form it has to be returned and a new one sent. It is far to heavy for me to carry.
