Top Amazon Reviews

  • Good not great
Personal context: I bought these to substitute my Under Armor Project Rock Over-Ear headphones that were stolen in Abril, since they haven't restocked in months I've decided to look for alternatives for work/Gym headphones that were water resistant and came across TREBLAB. I wasn't sure if I should risk it or continue to wait for Under Armor to restock but after seeing to many great reviews about the customer support I suppose it was a low risk. Unfortunately Amazon didn't sell the Z7 model in Canada so had to import from the US and pay a few extra fees, but was guessing it was worth it. Sound quality: I don't consider myself much of a sound geek, so I consider myself flexible on sound quality, however when using the headphones for the first few days I noticed it really didn't have much bass, which I thought that wouldn't make much of a difference, but I really missed it during workouts. Microphones: Also used it for work and never have any complaints, having multiple microphones seems to get a good sounds quality. Hardware: - As far as design goes, I'm a bit picky for functional products. So for the band regulator I didn't like it much since it's to high on the head, so I can't keep the hand on the phones and pull/push the adaptar with my finger, which I do quite ofter since I put on a cap to workout after work and have to regulate the size a bit. - For the swipe controls I found them not to be very response, even more when you are running and need to perfectly swipe to skip the music or control volume. I prefer the physical button that you can feel and press to guarantee the command. Active Noise Cancelation: - Wouldn't personally recommend, found it to reduce noise a bit, but nothing that would improve sound experience. As soon as it arrived I put them on and spoke with my with and could hear her with slightly lower sound, in comparison with the Project Rock ones that would block about 80-90% of conversation sound. - Another thing that bothered me was that some sounds depending on how the microphones captured them, they would increase noise instead, for example was going to wash my hand and noticed a white noise while the water was running, kept turning my head to see where it was coming from and it changed based on the angle of the headphone to the water. (Never happened with other headphone) - Between the 3 modes: Noise Cancelling, Talk-through and both off. I felt that Talk-through was quite noisy and would always prefer to turn both off or remove the headphone. Last drop: - I was going to the market after a run and pulled the headphones to my neck, in which after I left the market I noticed my phone (that was untouched in my pocket the entire time), had made internacional call back home because of the voice command activated while clicking some commands... This happened on 3 occasions, since the last one pushed me to decide to return it. I don't like to use voice control and have the feature become a liability was a deal breaker for me. Note: - Last few days I was also having some problem with the software were my music kept pausing on it self a few seconds and coming back. Also a few connectivity issues where I had to disconnect to one device for the other device which was also connected to unmute (some times had to turn off/on to work). - Was hoping to take on my next trip to phase out the plane engines like I used my older one, but just will have to life with the basic airline phones for now. Positive: - Battery life was pretty good, lasted a few days using at work and gym and quick to recharge. - The color is also pretty nice - The case is resistant and looks good for travel. - They feel pretty comfortable in the ears, used for 8h+ shift at work and then at the gym afterwards without much pain. The ear pads adapt pretty well and fits without a problem - Grip is good but not tight so I was able to run with them without feeling that they would fall off Overall: I would recommend if - You are upgrading from other models - Don't feel much need for Active Noise Cancelation - Don't like that much bass - Need to wear it for long periods of time - Want a gym headphone ... show more

  • They Are Now Sweat Resistant!
The media could not be loaded. I bought these headphones specifically for using at the gym, as they are the only ANC BT Over-Ear headphones that I could find with an IPX rating of any sort (even if it's only a 4). The first day, they worked fantastic for the whole 2.5 hours I was at the gym. The noise canceling kills all but the sound of people slamming weight stacks or dropping weights. When I first turned them on, with no music playing, it's as if someone hit "Mute" on the world. The sound quality was great... for the price. Think, better than my $100 earbuds, but not as good as my $250 over-ear cans. The second day I used them, the right side started crackling and popping after about an hour or so. I thought that it was an issue with sweat and the ANC microphones, because turning the ANC off would stop the noise. I used them a few more times to see if it would persist, and it did. Last night I used them for the first time outside of the gym; dry, if you will. After about an hour it started crackling and popping again. I'm sending this set back to get a replacement from Amazon and if they have any issues after a week or two, I'll return them and get back to my search for some Over-Ear ANC BT headphones that are gym-safe. A couple of side notes: - I've used them for about 11hrs, altogether, in the 2 weeks I've had them and they still say "Battery High" when prompted. - The touch controls are sporadic, at best. Sometimes they will pause with a tap. SOMETIMES, they will volume up or down with a vertical swipe. SOMETIMES, they will skip songs. If you aren't prepared to use your phone for controls, steer clear. I'll update this review in a couple weeks, as to whether or not the replacements worked properly. I hope so, because I genuinely like these... when they work right. Update - 5/3/2022: So the second set worked fine for the 2 hours I worked out yesterday... until I was standing at the entrance of the gym to leave. The right side started crackling and popping again. :( Today, they started doing it again after about 25 minutes. As, with the first pair, turning off the ANC stops the noises. I remembered to record a quick clip of them popping this time, and that they stop, when the ANC is turned off. This sucks; I really like these headphones, but for $150 I can get something better without the ANC that I can't even use. Update - 12/20/2022 I randomly got an email from the Treblab customer support yesterday telling me that they found and fixed the issue that was causing my problems with these headphones. They are sending me another pair to try and I will post up later whether they WORK OUT (πŸ˜‚sorry, I had to) or not. Always a nice rarity to see good customer service. πŸ‘πŸ» Update: I spent 2 hours in the gym Tuesday and 2 hours tonight, sweating like a pig in the Hormel parking lot. They are fixed! The hole that the CS rep mentioned being fixed, by the ANC mics, apparently was the problem after all. The new set I have hasn't had any issues yet. That's with 5-6 hours around the house and 4 hours sweating like crazy. Actually It was also pouring down rain when I went in and out of the Gym Tuesday, with them around my neck. I gave back the 2 stars. Good stuff! πŸ‘πŸ» ... show more
