Performance-proven by the Slash 4X4 Ultimate and 1/10 Rally, the Traxxas Low- CG chassis is now available as a complete conversion kit for Slash 4X4. No matter where you want to race, on the track or off, you will experience superior handling and faster corner speed. The conversion kit includes all the parts and hardware required to convert one Slash 4X4 to the Low-CG configuration. The Low-CG chassis holds the battery and electronics as deep in the chassis as possible to position weight low in the chassis. To prevent flex under load, the chassis is reinforced by integrated ribs that form a ridged triangulated structure. Underneath, the chassis is ultra-smooth to reduce drag and prevent snags whether you're blasting through whoops on the track or blazing trails in your backyard. The low-CG design dramatically increases corner speed and stability no matter where you drive. If your Slash 4X4 is destined for the track, the Low-CG chassis is ready to accept your personal transponder. Bosses integrated into the chassis make it easy to mount the transponder with two screws, no tape required. And of course, the transponder mounts up front, so it gets to the finish line faster! Use Traxxas stock and hop-up replacement parts to get the most out of your Traxxas RTR vehicles. This product is made from high quality materials and designed for long-lasting performance. This kit includes everything...except directions. Fortunately there is at least one You Tube video that goes through the process step by step. $75 and no instructions? Shame on Traxxas. Once installed, the Slash becomes a much better racer. Fewer flips when cornering. You do give up chassis clearance, but if you are running this on grass, clay, dirt, pavement, the decreased bottom clearance is a great trade off for a better handling RC truck. I believe it can be found for less $$$ from other sources, but I needed it ASAP, so paid the price. ... show more

    • Good quality, doesn’t solve all problems.
It is a well made product. Instructions are straightforward and construction seems very durable so far. However, I was hoping that this kit would fix the problem I was having with the stock chassis where I was unable to use the full steering throw because part of the steering linkage was contacting the driveshaft. This kit relocates both the steering servo and drive shaft to lower positions, but I still have the same problem of the steering linkage contacting the drive shaft. It has ground down almost 50% of the head of the linkage and is now eating into the screw that is holding the two linkage halves together. I’m going to do more research and see if there’s a third party or DIY modification that will fix this. Other than that, I am very happy with how the car handles in fast, sweeping corners now. No more tipping over and doing cartwheels into the wall at the track while going 45 mph! ... show more

    • Very impressive, I'm ready for a new body now!
I've installed this on my Slash Ultimate 4x4 which flipped like a stack of pancakes everytime I ran it around the front yard and street. I've beat the heck out of my stock body and most of it was unintentional flips due to the high center of gravity. I installed this kit and now the same car with 2 year old tires sticks to the road like glue. I only flip now if I'm going up a curb too fast during a turn or something else stupid. The only recommendation I can make is to buy new bearings; a new center differential bearing (Traxxas P/N 5119) as the kit didn't come with one, and the 2 little bearings on the front bulkhead (Traxxas P/N 5114) as they were fused to the old bulkhead. Overall, great addition and SOOOOOO worth the money. Buy one now! ... show more

Quite impressed with the bundle. This was my first tear down of an rc car this extensive. Everything was included and the exploded diagram made putting it together a cinch. Just remember to put the motor mount on before slipper clutch system of you'll have to take the slipper clutch out to get the motor plate in lol. Learned that the hardway. I'd say it's pretty durable too. I've seen reviews saying people broke the chassis in half which made me skeptical when buying, but after the beating I gave this thing at the track i don't see how they could have broken this. I'm talking clearing triples and landing on the rear bumper or front bumper even landed sideways and broke and axle stub but the chassis remaind solid. If you don't have the lcg chassis and you race on a track, your missing out. ... show more
