Traxxas now offers a complete Low Center-of-Gravity chassis conversion kit for 2WD Slash models. The Low-CG Conversion Kit lowers the chassis, battery, and electronic components to bring all the advantages of a low center of gravity to the 2WD short-course trucks including the Slash, Raptor, and Robby Gordon Edition Dakar Slash. No matter where you want to race, on the track or off, you will experience superior handling and better corner speed. The conversion kit includes all the parts and hardware required to convert one 2WD Slash to the Low-CG configuration. The complete Low-CG Conversion Kit (5830) includes a blue low-CG chassis, black Nerf bars and lower chassis, battery hold down, optimized low-CG front shock springs, and hardware. For personalized Slash low-CG chassis customization, the low-CG chassis, lower chassis, and Nerf bars are available separately in three colors: black, blue, and grey. The Low-CG chassis holds the battery and electronics as deep in the chassis as possible to position weight low in the chassis. The low-CG design dramatically increases corner speed and stability no matter where you drive. The complete Low-CG Conversion Kit (5830) includes a blue low-CG chassis, black Nerf bars and lower chassis, battery hold down, optimized low-CG front shock springs, and hardware.     • Get this NOW if you have a High Center Chassis, this LCG really changes how the Slash handles, puts a huge smile on my face!
If you have a High Center Chassis, buy this LCG immediately! I wanted to bring my Slash to my local indoor clay racing track as a back-up to my TLR 22 3.0 race buggy. When it had the HCG chassis, it was like a big hippo running around a herd of thoroughbred horses, just bubbling around and getting in everyone's way. The main reason why I switched to the LCG originally was because the HCG would high-side on the track lane separator pipes, forcing me to rescue the car too often. The LCG would prevent that by forcing the car to either side of the lane separaters and I could drive out of it. However, once I installed the new chassis, the handling improved so much, even with how well it jumped. I knew of course the LCG would benefit handling, but I underestimated how much I would enjoy it. It really improves your enjoyment of the vehicle to another level. Almost equal to track bred short course trucks like an Associated SC10 or TLR 22 SCT, while still allowing the Slash to be a Slash, in other words still a basher. Installation is really simple, there are some good YouTube videos I recommend you watch since the instructions appear almost microfiche in size. Overall, this is the best bang for your buck in Slash upgrades you can think of besides better tires. I highly recommend you buy this, worth every penny. ... show more

This kit considerably improves the rollover tendency of stock. You technically lose some ground clearance but it isnt an issue onroad or tighter tracks. The servo also lays down nicely and is better protected from debris

    • Lowering center of gravity is essential to racing
If you do not own this lcg for your Traxxas Slash 2wd, I would highly recommend purchasing this to use on the track. The slash is good car but it will flip on a regular basis when running on the track. This lowers yours center of gravity enough to where the weight of your car will ride level with the center of your hubs which will dramatically increase the cars handling. This kit has everything you need to complete the lcg modification. It even comes with a new set of front spring for your shocks which are an improvement over the stock springs. It also comes with all new screw that will be used. I had absolutely zero issues with this kit and installing it. The Stock set up on the slash provided a much higher ride height. Originally, The car was probably designed this way to keep the body from bottoming out over jumps with the stock shock set up. This is good enough for bashing around in the backyard, but a huge disadvantage on the track. This chassis is the same thing that is on the higher grade versions of the car. Make sure that when you rebuild your shocks you put heavier oil in them. 50 works very well with this chassis. ... show more

Installation is very involved. Rear end stays in tact but you pretty much disassemble the whole front end to make this swap. Handling is much better compared to stock.
