I bought this to replace my Travelpro 2 wheeler carry-on, which has lasted years, but has seen better days. I was a little hesitant since there are some negative reviews especially about the quality (e.g. seams coming apart) and about broken zippers and zipper pulls. But I really wanted a 4-wheeled spinner because I have such trouble navigating the narrow airplane aisles with the 2-wheeler. I also needed something that would meet international carry-on requirements since I was planning on taking this on a trip to Germany and England. And I have always had good experiences with Travelpro in the past. THIS WAS PERFECT! It held up well. I packed all of my electronics and converters (almost 50 lbs!) and had no trouble navigating the airplane aisles or hoisting it into the overhead compartment. It met all the regulations. I did have to check it once due to an overfull flight, but it held up great. No scratches or damage. I am so glad I purchased this. I would highly recommend this carry-on.

I had a lot of clothing layers for the fickle Scottish weather and the bag held everything plus golf shirts and other stuff I bought on vacation. I only buy Travelpro luggage. It is what the airline flight attendants use - durable and well designed.

I used to have a very travel intensive job where I traveled weekly and would sometimes be in five states in five days and lived the majority of my life from a suitcase. I learned to value a suitcase that uses space efficiently, has good maneuverability, and smooth zippers. I own the Travelpro Platinum Elite carry-on and I wanted to compare that model with the Crew Classic model to see if the difference in price is really warranted. The Platinum Elite is $314 and the Crew Classic is $229 at the time of this review (both on sale). I have included photos of both side by side for comparison. The first thing that struck me when looking at the suitcases side by side was the difference in size. But when you look at the dimensions on the Travelpro website they are very similar...however, there is a huge difference in volume and you can really feel that when you pack them. Platinum Elite Dimensions: Overall Dimensions (includes wheels and carry handles): H: 23 in. W: 14.50 in. D: 9 in. Case Dimensions: H: 21 in. W: 14 in. D: 9 in. Weight: 7.7 lbs. Volume: 53.5 L Crew Classic Dimensions: Overall Dimensions: H: 23 in. W: 14.5 in. D: 9.5 in. Case Dimensions: H: 20.5 in. W: 13.75 in. D: 9 in. Weight: 7 lbs. Volume: 47 L So, a 6.5 L difference between the two bags; how many more clothes can you realistically add? According to a quick search, the rule of thumb is 30-50 L bags for a weekend trip. When I initially opened the Crew Classic I was surprised how small it felt and looked compared to the Platinum Elite. The Crew Classic will hold 2-3 days worth of clothes with an extra of change of clothes for an evening out and some toiletries. In comparison, the Platinum Elite bag will hold 5-7 days worth of clothes with an extra change of clothes for an evening out and toiletries. The difference is substantial. The build quality of the Platinum Elite is sleeker and more luxurious looking, with the exception of the rough and terrible zippers. The handle is longer and is thicker and easier to hold. The Platinum Elite only has two wheels vs. the four that the Crew Classic has, which is a negative. In busy airports or on public transportation it can be nice to have your bag alongside you instead of dragging it behind where it can get kicked or broken into more easily. I like the smoother and more discreet zippers of the Crew Classic bag. The interior of the Crew Classic has a clip in two pocket envelope for toiletries and the Platinum Elite has two larger loose toiletry bags. I personally prefer the larger bags. Ultimately, the Crew Classic is a solid bag for a 2-3 day trip, but for longer trips or if you tend to overpack spend a bit more for the Platinum Elite. The only downfalls of the Platinum Elite are the fact that it has two wheels and has rougher and more conspicuous zippers. The Crew Classic still warrants a 4 out of 5 stars from me.

Traveling is not something i do that much because i do not have am adventurous life. Hopefully some day i will; be able to head out to see the Great Pyramid or castles in Portugal. As for now i do not travel, however i do have a certain fondness for luggage both carry on and checked types. This is not for travel but for the abundance of items i carry around with me. When i head off to work is the time when i need luggage to hold the project i am into at the time. I am writing a book and also like to bring electronic instruments around with me. I like to have refreshing toiletries with me with emphasis on shaving gear. That is due to how often i need to shave to keep the five o clock shadow hiding. This then requires me to carry around after shave. The main kid i use does not have a lid that is very secure. I therefore need an area within my luggage to allow me to feel safe carrying electronic devices in there with it. I have to be honest when i say that the need to protect my stuff from accidental aftershave spillage is what led me to this awesome piece of quality luggage from the Travelpro Crew brand. The inner side pocket that is water proof is exactly what i have been looking for to facilitate my after shave as well as cologne bottles that i carry with me as a part of my everyday luggage contents. I am happy to be upgrading from my other one, which always had me nervous that the bottles will spill or be knocked around, leading to a potential break then spillage. This piece of luggage looks nice with its navy blue color and planet friendly use of recycled bottles as the side guards. Not only does this have the main feature i was looking for; it also has a partition style fold out design that works to reduce wrinkles during travels, but also can stabilize a device such as those instruments i often carry with me that are best stored in particular positions such as upright. As for the intended use of the partition to keep wrinkles at bay; i tested this by bringing an extra shirt to work with me and when i undid the fold out piece the shirt was 100 percent wrinkle free. I totally recommend this luggage piece and the brand as well because you can tell they care about the customer. The zipper is of high quality and they actually give you a zipper repair kit in case it goes bad. I think most of the time its the zipper that ends up sending a luggage piece to the curb; so this attention to the whole zipper system again shows how this brand cares about the customer and their travel experience.
