Lilac inherits the craftsmanship and heritage of modern umbrella materials and techniques from the UK (originating with the FOX), Germany, and Japan, spanning over two centuries. The founder Justin apprenticed with the “Master of the umbrella” Shoji Ohara (FOX’ s technical consultant). The Ohara’s Kyoto-style techniques in 1962 was inherited by Lilac. Adhering to the umbrella artisans’ philosophy: “Lifetime dedication to perfecting a single art”. Lilac combines traditional craftsmanship with modern industrial design, human-centric aesthetics, and the spirit of innovation. The slogan “Blooming elegantly even in the Storm” came up with the founders Justin and Nancy, celebrates resilience-honoring those who brave life’s challenges with elegance.
