I have to preface this review with a disclaimer. I am a bag snob. I currently own a King Kong gym bag, previously owned the OG AER Duffel Pack. I travel with REI 40l Big Haul for short trips and use a Boundary Errant as my day to day backpack. I thought my daughter might like an alternative to her hard side suitcase so I purchased this duffel for her. My initial impression, I like bags that are collapsible. You can throw it in with your luggage if you need an extra bag for extras. The fact it folds into a potential messenger bag I’ll discuss later. Opening the bag, I noticed a scratch card like a weird scratch off ticket. Yeah I have no interest in that. The bag material felt thinner than I am used to, but my bags normally cost 3x this one, so that’s expected. The design on the material makes it feel reinforced though. The zippers (not YKK zippers) opened and closed smoothly. Even though the company says this is a travel duffel the zippers are NOT locking zippers. I was really impressed with the reinforced stitching at points were I can see it was necessary. Well thought out. At 55l the bag is spacious. The interior is tall, not long. The bag has 5 exterior pockets, 1 interior pocket and a compartment for shoes/dirty clothes. I was impressed with the size of the compartment. Keep in mind as you fill that up, you will lose room in the main compartment, but I appreciate the extra space. The company says the material is smell/water resistant but I have not tested that aspect. The hooks and eyelets for the shoulder strap are plastic, what you would expect for a $26 duffel. The fact that the bag folds into a “messenger” bag. What that means is the 4 exterior pockets are usable. There really is no main interior compartment because that is where the duffel is. Two of the external pockets are slightly expandable, but not spacious in any way. I truly struggle to see how this is a major selling point. Folding the duffel back into the messenger aspect does not require an origami degree, which I feared. Also, because this does fold into a messenger bag, when it is being used as a duffel, it leaves an awkward tab sticking out and I can just see that getting caught on things while traveling or the zipper getting damaged. Also because it folds into a messenger bag, they couldn’t put feet on the bottom of the duffel, so you hope the bottom doesn’t wear thin. In my opinion the fact that it folds into a messenger bag detracts from the bag. The quality is really good. Reinforced stitching, gliding zippers, large dirty clothes compartment...all of these things are positives. If you are purchasing the bag for the dual aspect, you might like it. Otherwise for me it’s 3 out of 5 stars. Edit: I talk it over with my daughter. She really likes the bag and has started to use it immediately. She thinks it is worthy of a 4 to 4.5 star review. I got this to use camping., it is the perfect size for a 3-night, 4-day trip. I was able to pack all the clothes I needed plus a bath towel, pillow, and two pair of shoes with room to spare for my medications and hygiene necessities. The best part is the built in shoe bag, I am able to keep my dirty shoes separated from my clean clothing and very easy to clean out after the trip. All the front pouches made it easy for me to keep easy access to my medications and things like my tooth brush and hand sanitizer separate but quick and easy access. After my trip, I was bale to fold this back up small and store it in my camping box with all the other pieces like my tent, sleeping bag etc. I am sure there are other uses for this bag, but I bought it just for the sole purpose of camping and that it is water resistant. All I need for camping fits in and I was able to hang it up in the tent using the side shoulder strap hooks provided. ... show more

The wife thought this would be a good weekender bag for when we go out to my parents, as well as a nice carry on for when we fly. She was right. The bags we'd been using were all too small or too late. This thing is the perfect size for our needs. We fit all our clothes, shoes, toiletries, electronics, and all her hair and makeup products in this one bag. And it wasnt overloaded. My wife loves all pockets and the fact that she can put her shoes into the bottom compartment. My mens 14's are too long and bulky to slide in there, but it's no big deal. I just place my shoes into the main compartment first so they don't dirty up our clothes. Overall, I like that the bag is lightweight and that it folds down into a small bag for easy storage. We read that some people's strap clips broke midtransit, so we bought steel clips as backup. We may not need them though, the bag seems pretty durable so far. We are definitely satisfied with the quality and value. There is one tweak I might suggest and that would be to add some kind of firm, protective piece that would unfold and line the bottom of the bag to add more structure and support. I purchased this product for a week long trip from the US to London. My goal was to pack for a family of four in one carry on and a duffel bag. I was able to stuff two large packs of pull ups and a week worth of cloths for my twin two year olds including sweaters into the bag with no problems. While I know I can buy diapers there we buy in bulk at Costco so we already have a lot. Plus when we return we can use the space for our new Bits and Bobs :) Great size, love the many pockets. Didn’t use the shoe space since it would take up internal packing space. Will update review if it doesn’t hold up well, but liking it a lot so far. ... show more

I absolutely love the options! There are so many useful pockets, I find myself storing so much in this bag! The straps are useful, I love that I can have it over my suitcase! This is the bag I chose to buy and pack for college, I use the side pockets for the dirtier objects like my shoes, old purse, phone, etc.. Family members were impressed by the ability to change it into a handheld bag. I got the dark blue bag, it's a lighter shade than pictured but I'm a fan of it still overall. I absolutely plan on using this bag for a long time! The only thing that bothers me at all is long zipper tab that sticks out however I can loop it over another tab right next to it and there's no more problem! ... show more
