If you are starting the gym and sometimes you don't have time to go and you want to increase your muscles, this bar is perfect, it is very easy to assemble and you can have 2 dumbbells too. It's amazing and it's comfortable for your back.

This was a last minute Christmas gift for a 12 year old girl who wanted to get into lifting. I really like the amount of weight that came with this set-not too heavy, but decent when multiple plates are used. The size is also nice for my teen girls and me. The bar is comfortable, and it's really easy to change the configurations around. I do wish that there were a few more of the red rings that hold on the plates just so you could have the kettle bells ready to go when the barbell was set up. Really nice set though! ... show more

I was looking for something low cost to start some simple and light weight training. I was going between these and a single adjustable dumbbell for about the same price. I thought this might be more versatile but i wish I had gone the other way. The first thing that surprised me was just how long the bars are for each dumbbell. If you were using them individually then it would be OK, or if you had very very wide shoulders then they might be OK. But as they are an average sized adult probably can't hold them at shoulder width. This is my biggest complaint. They are advertised as having an "anti-loosen double nut design" but they don't. There is a single nut holding each section of weights in place. There is a tapered washer that wedges into the weight as the nut is tightened down which tries to keep the nut from loosening on its own. When connected to the center piece to form a barbell I have found that I don't really trust it. With 2 weights on the inside there is still a significant amount of thread going into the barbell connector but it just doesn't feel sturdy. They also loosen while it is in use. It is easy to notice but that is still a concern I have. For the price it does let me add a little weight, but I wouldn't buy these again. Given that I got the 70lbs version I don't think returning them is worth the effort, and I don't see anything else in this price point I would replace it with right now. If I'm able to stick with it then I will eventually give these away and get something nicer. ... show more
