These are wonderful umbrellas small enough to fit into your backpack or a large purse. The fabric is thick and the umbrella opens up quickly at the touch of a button. It does require a little effort to bring the umbrella back to a close but these umbrellas are a great value for the money.

Theses unbrellas are really useful. First, you get 5 in the package, so they are a decent bargain to start with. They open and collapse with the same button, so very easy to open and close. The fabric is, of course, waterproof, but seems quite sturdy. The only downside is to fully slide the closed top back onto the bottom of the central arm, requires quite a bit of pulling. I found that leaning the base bottom against my belt and using both hands to pull the top down seemed to work fairly easily, however I’m sure that won’t be practical to many. Because they are small in length, they lend themselves to residing in many places until needed; cars, knapsacks, travel bags, bikes, even pockets while dog walking. Easy to recommend. ... show more

My kids are always breaking umbrellas so I picked up this 5 pack. I wasn't expecting much, but they work great so far! The umbrellas open and close at the press of a button and doesn't require too much pressure from your thumb to do so. When you close it with the button, only the top of the umbrella collapses down, it doesn't retract the umbrella shaft. That has to be done manually and DOES require a decent amount of pressure to close it. Not an issue for me, but it may be for someone with limited hand strength. The umbrella works well in the rain and didn't flex or invert in windy weather at all. There was no leaking through the fabric and we stayed dry while using them. I am happy with this purchase since you are getting FIVE umbrellas for $39.99 (the price at the time of my order). I put two in the car in case of an unexpected shower, one to each of the kids and have the spare in the house for guests. They shaft and handle are well built and the open/close feature works well. When I opened the package the box was in I could see it had been taped up and not by the factory. When I opened the box there were only 4 in the box when there should have been 5. I'm disappointed in that but the overall but of the quality of the ones I did receive they seem to be made decently.

The media could not be loaded. We have a few umbrellas that are pretty beat up. I found this 5-pack of auto open/close umbrellas from TradMall that I thought would be helpful replacements. I got the black version which has slight silver accents on the handle and a white brand name on the closing strap. When you press the open button, be ready. It shoots out quickly and with a bit of force. Pressing the button again causes the umbrella top to collapse, which it does with another quick jolt. You still have to pull the top down to fully collapse the handle, which does require a bit of pressure to get it to click into the handle. The mechanism seems sturdy enough. It claims to be windproof. I haven't been able to replicate a good test for that, but pulling it towards inverting and it resisted well. I did have one problem, the first one I pulled out of the pack opened and closed once. After that, it wouldn't fully extend, but stuck in the open position. I can't get the mechanism to collapse. So, I guess I am going to have to crush it somehow and throw it away. 4 working out of 5 is decent, but not ideal. I do have to question how durable the others will be if one broke after one use. The ones that work do seem good for now. They're a great size and we will probably leave one in each vehicle and keep the others at home to take out when we need it. ... show more

This is my favorite compact umbrella to take on the go! It is compact enough to fit in my backpack and extends out far enough to keep me dry, especially being on the tall side. I love the one touch pop out feature for the umbrella and the fact that with pressing the button again, the umbrella closes itself back. This is a nice touch, especially for one handed operation! I only wish it could retract back to compact size, that would be "James Bond Like"! The umbrella is sturdy for a compact one and feels like it will hold up pretty well in the Midwest elements!
