This is a great deal on a great phone!
Was a bit reluctant going from Motorola phone for over 20 years to Samsung phone as didn't know if it would be difficult to adjust to different system settings as a 70-year old, but really love this phone for so many reasons. Everything transfered over in a jiffy using Smart Switch and did some tweaking to make it work like my Moto phones did. Activation was a snap using TracFone website with same phone number and all balances carried over as well, plus the year of service and minutes/texts/data that came with new phone in just a few minutes. When you consider that the year of service and 1500 MTD balances alone would've cost $125, I basically got a new phone with OS 16 out of the box and six years of updates for $15. You really can't beat that! ... show more

Phone is fast.
Good phone, fast. Not impressed with Samsung Wallet that retains passwords for you. It does not work with a lot of apps including Amazon. Because it kicks in Google password manager doesn't.

Phone too Wide, and you can not change app layout sensibly.

This phone sucks, even though the specs are technically better than tracfones moto g 2024 5g, which is what I am comparing it to. look at the images in this review. 1. The phone barely fits in my hand and it is even worse in with a phone case on. 2. You see how my hand and thumb rests on the moto g; my finger rests naturally in the middle of the icons at the 4th icon up or down, on this Samsung A17 my finger only goes to the 2nd icon because you can not minimize the icons any further down than shown in the image. The bottom has such a large gap and you can not utilize it because it is mandatory empty space designed by Samsung, even with a third party home launcher app to fix this, it doesn't help, because the apps reconfigure all your folders, add bloat, and are subscription based. I think the phone is so wide it naturally spreads your palm open, limiting the movement of your thumb. 3. I should have went with the new Moto G from tracfone instead of this, the only advantage you get to this is the 6 year update, but I am not sure it is worth it if you plan on getting another phone in a year. 4. battery life sucks in comparison to the Moto. 5.sluggish already on the first day, SMH! 6. stuck with it for now. 7. very heavy, especially with the cases they sell for this thing. ... show more

This is my 5th Samsung Galaxy Tracfone, from A 13 thru A17. Love this phone. Love tracfone. I upgrade my phone every year plus get one year of tracfone service, 1500 calls, 1500 texts and data all for less than $150.00. Best bargin for a cell phone, incuding a plan that I have found.
