Set in the town of Denton, A TOUCH OF FROST focuses on Detective Inspector Frost and his long-suffering Superintendent Harry Mullett. Based on the novels by R.D. Wingfield, the British crime drama features award-winning actor David Jason as tough detective Jack Frost. Frost is a man of unconventional methods and a gruff manner that often draw acrimony from suspects and fellow policemen alike. But no one can dispute the efficiency of Frost's techniques. Also containing a good bit of humour, the series takes place in a fictitious, dreary town called Denton, and features solid writing and unflashy but thoroughly engaging acting. Contains every episode from the much-loved long-running show, from series 1 to 15.

14 Nov 2019 - Firstly make sure you can use these Region 2 DVDs if you are buying in the US. Most DVD / Blu-ray players purchased in the US are not region free and won't play any disc not specifically for Region 1. If you are using a computer optical drive DVD / Blu-ray to view, then your good to go as they are region free. This set is quality thru and thru. Unlike the 19 Disc set put out for Region 1. Video quality on all this is superb. There is only one quirk to the set. Disc Season 2 Episode 2 is a mislabel, It should read Season 13. Season 12 was just one episode and so was Season 13. I tried out a region 2 dvd that I had on an old dvd player that I bought some years ago to see if it worked. Most players here are region 4 only. When this proved okay, I then ordered this collection from Amazon.com. I had first seen it on Amazon.uk site, but they wouldn't supply to me. The parcel arrived here a couple of weeks later, well packaged and in good condition. So far I have only watched the first 4 discs (29 total) and found that 1 episode in series 3 was unreadable, visible marks internally on the aluminium could be seen in this disc. I puchased a copy of Series 3 from a local warehouse for less than return mail cost. As far as I know this is the only disc affected. I think that the acting, story lines, and excellence of each episode is outstanding. ... show more

David Jason and his colleagues are fine actors, and the series is well plotted. The region 2 DVDs play flawlessly on my laptop. Purists will object to the odd video tape sync artifact. They don't bother me. They are of their time, along with the Amiga Magazine and oak library card files in S1:E2. The package arrived right on time, too. ... show more

Great writing, excellent actors, fun to watch. Plots are varied and creative.

    • Be careful check discs for badly scratched items.
The disc case are not very good. I had one disk so badly scratched it will not play. If you order this, check all the disks for scratched right away. Mine arrived with only 2 disks still in their hubs. The series is excellent and the disks that did play worked fine.

I did se most of the episodes many years a ago.. Purchased the set to see them all. Did indeed think the very good. Just remember they only have U.K. format. I have a 0-9 dvd player so good on me.

The British make the greatest suspense stories. The plots are involved and the acting is first rate. David Jason is always superb.
