My pretty Totes umbrella just arrived, in time for Hurricane Ida whose remnants will visit New Jersey tomorrow when I have to go out. The big test for me was can I close it and collapse it easily. The last automatic umbrella I had was so hard to collapse that I had to push it against a wall to collapse it. Really hard when it's pouring and you're trying to get in your car. As soon as I opened this one, I was so happy to find that when I pushed the button it opened to a size that will keep me dry and when I pushed the button to close it and I pushed the bottom, it collapsed easily, and I didn't have to use brute strength that I don't have.     • Fake Totes? Not sure but feels fake.
Got the leopard print and the material feels like plastic, not a nylon-like material. All my other Totes umbrellas feel like umbrellas. This feels like a plastic bag that will tear. Too bad because the ribs and button work well. Something isn’t right with this model Returning it.

I had a totes umbrella for 8-9 years and only gave up on it because of tiny holes from wear. I bought another on Amazon. It lasted one year and the mechanism to open and close it broke. So I bought another thinking it must be a fluke. Now, I have had this umbrella since mid-May. It is mid-September. One of the spokes totally snapped. Having to use two hands to open and close an umbrella is SO yesterday! I'll never buy another umbrella that is NOT a push button open & close. This makes it so easy to get in and out of a car in the pouring rain, especially with other things in your hands. This unit is very compact too, so I can store it between the drivers seat and the center console so it's always there and ready to go! It's a really shoddy made umbrella. I consider Totes as the top of the line product but I don't know why this umbrella is even being sold at this price. The minute we opened it to try it out (indoors) it immediately broke. We had to return it. This feels cheap compared to my other TOTE umbrellas.

I think this is the most beautiful umbrella I've ever owned! It's a bit dainty but perfectly strong enough for "normal" rain (I haven't yet tried it in a severe or windy storm). The ladylike design makes me smile every time I use it!
