    • Perfect starter kit, and also a delight for seasoned players!

Phenomenal Beginner Kit – Incredible Value & Beautifully Complete! An absolute home run for beginners! The fiddle looks sharp, plays smoothly, and comes with everything you need.If you or someone in your family is looking to learn the violin without dropping a small fortune on a rental or an expensive shop model, this Tostar full-size (4/4) fiddle kit is an absolute masterpiece of a deal. It completely eliminates the barrier to entry by bundling a very nice, smooth-playing instrument with every single essential accessory required to start your musical journey the day it arrives. What I Love:Stunning Aesthetic & Solid Build: Straight out of the case, the fiddle looks exceptionally sharp with a sleek, clean finish that stands out immediately. The craftsmanship is wonderful for a beginner instrument, featuring smooth edges, a comfortable neck profile, and clean fittings that make holding it feel completely natural.Massive All-In-One Value: This kit is incredibly generous. Along with the full-size violin, you get a protective hardshell case, a bow, a dedicated digital tuner, a block of rosin, a shoulder rest, and a complete backup set of strings. You do not have to hunt down or buy a single extra accessory separately.Excellent Hardshell Travel Case: The included plush-lined case is exceptionally well made. It features custom-molded interior compartments to hold the fiddle snugly, dedicated neck straps to lock it down safely during travel, external accessory pockets, and a sturdy handle that makes carrying it back and forth to lessons incredibly easy.Perfect Learning Platform: The bridge and tailpiece setup are highly user-friendly for a novice. It holds its tuning remarkably well once the strings settle, and the tuning pegs adjust smoothly without slipping constantly, taking a massive amount of frustration out of daily practice sessions.A Quick Tip:When you first unbox your kit, remember that brand-new violin bows have completely smooth horsehair and will not grip the strings to make a sound right away. Take the included block of rosin, lightly scratch the glossy top surface with a coin or sandpaper to rough it up, and rub it thoroughly up and down the bow hair for a few minutes. Once the rosin catches, the fiddle will produce a beautiful, clear, and full tone! For the price, the sheer quality, presentation, and completeness of this Tostar kit are genuinely hard to beat. It is a reliable, inspiring, and highly affordable gateway into playing string music! ... show more

    • Looks great, and easy to set up
Color: Amber Set name: 4/4
I’m a guitarist rather than a trained violinist, but this Tostar 4/4 violin looks and feels like a genuine, good-quality instrument. The amber finish is clean, and the body is lightweight and naturally resonant. If you're looking for a solid beginner fiddle, this kit is an impressive value. With a little experimenting on the bridge, I was able to get it set up and intonated quite well. The stock strings included in the kit are pretty basic, so planning on swapping them for a proper set down the road will make a big difference in tone, but as a starter bundle, it’s a fantastic, fun instrument for learning the basics. My daughter and I will both be learning at the same time, so let's see who sounds worse at first! ... show more

    • Surprisingly good quality overall with a resonant sound, though I highly recommend a different rosin
Color: Amber Set name: 4/4
The quality of this violin for the price was really surprising, especially for everything that’s included. That said, there were a couple aspects of the overall package that bump it down a star for me, however I want to emphasize that the violin itself is solid and my issues are with the accessories. Its instructions are overall pretty easy to follow, though looking up YouTube videos can be helpful if you need extra visuals. I had no issues with any strings snapping when tightening and it’s typical for violins to need retuned every session, potentially more than once, so nothing odd there. I also only had to trim a single hair off the bow that was frayed. The few cons: - If you’re sensitive to odors, the case has gnarly off-gassing inside - Even after several minutes of rubbing, the rosin just wouldn’t coat properly - Tuner feels mediocre as it was temperamental about detection That said, once we applied the rosin my wife uses for her hurdy-gurdy to the bow, we were able to get a clear and consistent resonant sound. If you have issues from hypermobility like me, I do want to mention it can make playing violin challenging though you can adapt. I recommend strengthening exercises and searching for an excellent article titled “The Double-Jointed Violinist - or, Understanding Hypermobility” to learn more. Overall, this is a great deal for the quality at this price, though I definitely recommend picking up a different rosin and using a chromatic tuner app. ... show more

    • Great starter set for aspiring musician
Color: Black Set name: 4/4
Beautiful violin set that comes with everything needed for a beginner. My girlfriend expressed how much she loved playing the violin as a young woman and would love to get back into playing it so I found this set for her. It came with everything needed to get started. It was easy to tune following a simple YouTube channel and the provided tuner and has given her so much enjoyment with practicing it and reminiscing of times in her past she remembers fondly playing her violin. It has easily been worth the money in that regard. The size fits her perfectly as an adult and appears to be made with quality and durable materials that will last under repeated use. ... show more

    • Great
Color: Black Set name: 4/4
Solid starter kit for total beginners The Tostar 4/4 full-size violin is a practical entry-level option for adults or teens starting their musical journey. It comes as a complete package with essential accessories, making it convenient to set up and start practicing right out of the box. * Pros: Comes with everything needed to begin (bow, rosin, case, and tuner), the full 4/4 size fits standard adult proportions, and the price point is very approachable for testing out a new hobby. * Cons: Like most budget starter violins, the factory strings and pegs require frequent tuning at first, and a quick setup adjustment by a local shop can help improve the tone and playability. It's a reasonable, budget-friendly option for absolute beginners or students looking to learn basic posture and notes before investing in a higher-tier instrument. ... show more

This is a complete setup, with extras. Easily one of the better starter setups I've seen. And the quality seems pretty good like with everything. The finish and paint on the violin is beautiful and dark and unique and I love it. It is a full size regular violin. The original description sorta confused me but upon receiving it I think they were describing the paint or the electric tuner. Which are both very electric and awesome. So the case in itself is hard with a soft interior to protect the instrument of course, comes with a bow and it's a pretty nice bow... Easy to hold and feel like the one I grew up using. The shoulder rest and chin rest are included and the extras strings are a nice bonus. The rosin is easy to apply and actually coats the bow without taking a lifetime. The strings do need to be strung and the bridge needs to be placed. Follow tutorials online, it's pretty simple. And they included a electric tuner which is insane, I've been using my ears forever and I can just quickly tune it with the tuner. It takes like a minute easy. I do recommend getting peg compound, the pegs do keep slipping on this one for me. I love the look, compound fixes the issue. I would 100 trust getting another instrument from this company, I do have two now and I. Seeing quality across the board. Nothing is warped or odd, everything is pretty good looking. And the playability is wonderful and I actually like the sound it's producing while another cheaper violin I got awhile ago wasn't as great in comparison so I'm pretty sold here. The violin also comes with a manual and has a serial number inside as well as the name of the company and that shows me that they are putting their name on the line here as well. And the case has a small protective cover for the zippers and the zippers can totally be used with a lock. ... show more
