My grinder is an 8" Grizzly wet grinder that I bought for $129. Works great for sharpening and honing straight chisel blades but for turning gouge sharpening it's useless by default. You need a good jig to first shape then sharpen these curved cutters. Spending almost as much on a jig as I did on my grinder was a hard pill to swallow but I was familiar with Tormek, liked what they do, but wasn't willing to spend $400-$600 on their wet grinders. Could a jig be worth the $100+ it would cost? Yes, this jig does a lovely job and works with the bar on my Grizzly. The results were (I hesitate to say as it sounds hyperbolic) stunning. The contour was perfect, the blade was sharp and it's totally repeatable. Again, I'm really impressed even though I went in with lots of doubts. Recommended. ... show more

Solid, well built with positive stops for head angle. My sharpener is a WEN, but the tool support is the same size as the tormek, so this tool fits perfectly. My fingernail gouges are sharper than new now.

Over all I give this an A. I recently did an over all on my grinder and put a CBN wheel pin on it and wanted to try this. great tools that work very well. It is a little bit pricier them most Tormek jigs but I have good tools and want to keep them that way. I would give a A+ if it was closer to $75.

My large gouges wouldn't fit in the jig. If I didn't have any smaller gouges to sharpen, I would get rid of this jig

I still don't know what "sheerness" and "thickness" mean in Amazon's rating of products. Amazon needs to improve its rating system. Bottom line -- the tool works.
