Let me start off by saying I thoroughly enjoyed the game play...when it worked. If you are like me and don't care about online gaming or multiplayer gaming, understand this game requires connection to the 2K servers to play any game mode except exhibition or the academy. This means mycareer, which is a single player mode, must be online in order to access. This also means once 2K decides to stop supporting the server,it's a $70 paper weight unless you just love exhibition matches or training. 2K has also already announced they are shutting down the server in Dec of 26 so this game has a shelf life of 2.5 years right out the gate. With all that in mind, right out the gates the game was plagued with server issues and several patches have been made to address them. Even still,I enjoyed the game...until I couldn't,which brings me to this review. Update version 1.006 has crashed the game and made it unplayable. Launching the game it gets stuck and never makes it past the title screen then force closes with error code CE-10855-1. I followed the troubleshooting steps for deleting and reinstalling the game, starting it in safe mode,clearing the cache,rebuilding the database,and resetting the PS5 to no avail. Contacting both 2K and Sony for support was a joke. I spoke to 2K first and they told me it was a hardware issue and to speak to Sony...fine,although this error only occurs with their game (physical copy), it occurred after 2K's software update,I could actually load the game if I didn't accept their patch (but without the patch it doesn't connect to the 2K server so I can only play exhibition or training), but somehow this is a Sony problem? Got it...contacting Sony through their online support is a nightmare,they want to keep directing you to a "Sony expert" which is the equivalent of a reddit chat lol it's another gamer who fields questions for the gaming community and it's impossible to speak to a sony employee. Finally I called instead and after being transferred no less than 5 times without any of the previous 4 transfers even attempting to troubleshoot, the 5th talked about what I already did from their website and ultimately told me there's nothing further they could do and because I purchased a physical copy a refund was not an option. So at this point I've spent 69.99 plus tax for a game i can't play, hours ontop of hours of game play and progress for a mycareer that is now useless (thank God I didn't spend money for vc to upgrade anything bc we all know how 2K looooves pay to play/win) 9.99 plus tax for a month of ps plus so I could upload my save files to the cloud in order to reset my PS5 to troubleshoot this error code neither company wants to take ownership for. Save your money and your time,0/5 if it would let me!!!!

We purchased the standard edition DVD disc and nowhere in the description prior to purchase did it announce that you had to subscribe to play more than two hours and so it gave us a QR code that we had to scan and subscribe to play any further which the card kept declining For some oddball reason so we opted to scrap the whole shebang and start all over maybe with the deluxe version you don’t have to subscribe to continue to play and actually we got this for the children and they were highly disappointed. I could have given a 0 zero review, but I’m not sure if that would’ve been fair because I really don’t know , what’s going on here? I know usually when you buy DVDs then you are usually able to utilize content fully unless you have some notification otherwise. If someone knows better than us, please let us know. Thank you.

Doesn't matter how good a game is. If it requires internet to even just play My Career Mode without playing with online players. Games that force poeple to connected and use stupid tatics to get more money from them is a scam.

This game is really not what we were expecting after a years-long hiatus. There is no way to play with real players through a season which makes no sense. I'm an adult. I'm not interested in taking the time to create a player and play against the digital players that I want to be playing as in the first place. I think this exclusion is unacceptable.
