  • good feather down duvet inner
This TOPGREEN king sized duvet inner is nice. Fortunately it comes with a certification from European-based OEKO TEX that there are no harmful chemicals in it. Chemical smells are a major concern many shoppers have about products that are shipped in from abroad. But there are no such problems with this product. This duvet inner comes vacuum-packed so it appears at first more like a brick. However, a long tumble in a cool clothes drying machine will do a pretty good job of getting it all fluffed up to where it looks ready to use. While i was examining this duvet inner, i noticed something in the sales listing that i had glossed over before; The sales listing says that this product should not be used by itself as a comforter but, rather, it should be used as a duvet inner “inside a duvet cover.” So that totally changed my perspective. The laundry instructions are rather restrictive. It should not be machine washed, nor chlorine bleached, nor ironed. Wiping it clean with a damp cloth and then drying it as soon as possible is the recommended care. But the laundry instructions do show that dry-cleaning with petroleum products or perchloroethylene is possible if the process is (mechanically) extremely gentle. So the more i thought about it, i decided that the white color is going to show dirt very quickly. And the thought of actual feathers inside the comforter (as opposed to 100% down) is a little concerning since i remember using feather pillows as a child And i remember feather quills would sometimes poke out of the pillow and stab in the head or in the arm and wake a person up in the middle of the night. And that was not all that much fun, really. So since both keeping this duvet inner clean and also avoiding feather quills stabbing in the middle of the night are both priorities of mine, i decided to order a black king-sized duvet cover (with two pillow cases/shams) from Amazon. Once that arrives in a day or two, that duvet cover should help with both the stabbing and the laundering issues. All in all this is a nice duvet inner but it is not intended to be used without a duvet cover. And compared to other 60% down duvet inners this one (at $119) is in the middle of a wide price range. But looking at other product offerings it is not clear what this duvet inner has that commands a price over twice as much as some competing duvet inners that are advertised as using the same fill mix of feathers, feather pieces and 60% down. ... show more

  • Did you know Americans use top sheets because historically we didn't use duvet covers?
This is a really high quality duvet and you know that from the second that you feel it. Every night is like staying in a fancy hotel now lol. I really appreciate that it has its OEKO-Standard 100, which means that it's free of a lot of harmful chemicals that you really don't want to be sleeping with every night. That's important to me because I have sensitive skin, but also because you really can't deep clean a down duvet in the way that you can a regular comforter without damaging it on some level, so it's really important that it is tested and certified to be free of that stuff from the start. It has a good fill ratio - it's not absolutely packed with feathers, but it's enough that the down fluffs up and fills each panel. It's exactly how I prefer my down comforters, because when they're filled like this you can also use them in the summer without getting too hot because they breathe really well. And then they still do a great job insulating you in the winter. You just honestly can't beat natural materials. With a good down comforter like this I don't wake up sweaty in the middle of the night like I do with synthetic comforters, and that is just the grossest feeling in my opinion. The stitching quality is excellent and there is some silver piping around the whole Edge which is one of those details that just shows you the manufacturer is going above and beyond. I don't have a duvet cover for it yet, but I appreciate that it has all the appropriate hooks and loops so it doesn't move around in the duvet cover. I used to have a smaller duvet that didn't have any attachment things on it, and it would get wadded up in the duvet cover and there is really no way that you could get it spread out so it could cover you again without opening the duvet cover and messing with it like that which is not something that you want to do in the middle of the night. So definitely for sure make sure that you get a duvet cover that also has the attachments for this because let me tell you it is such a headache if you don't. But it also just goes to show how much higher quality this duvet is then my old one. And a really high quality duvet cover will have like buttons inside it or similar so that you can attach the duvet. Word to the wise: turn the duvet cover inside out and then attach it to the duvet at the bottom and then as you're turning it right way up hook the Fasteners as you come to them. Maybe you're not as dumb as me but I used to try and stuff my duvet in it and then I would be like inside the duvet cover with it trying to fasten it in the dark. But you're probably smarter than me lol. For the record it's totally okay to not have a duvet cover and just use a top sheet between you and the duvet. It used to be that duvet covers were a very British thing, and Americans used top sheets, but now it's kind of however you want to do it and I don't think people remember those old customs. Something from that that I find super interesting though is because britt's used duvet covers they historically did not use top sheets. And because Americans didn't use duvet covers they historically did use top sheets. Now most people don't have true feather duvets they have comforters, but the tradition of having a top sheet in America still lives on. And it's kind of starting to be the done thing in Britain now more so but it's totally normal not to sleep with a sheet at all in Britain. Personally I find that absolutely fascinating. If you've made it this far in the review you probably do too because you would have scrolled past a long time ago lol. But for real this is a super high quality duvet that's good for all year round and definitely perfect for summer use. I can't think of anything they could really improve on it honestly, it's beautiful and it's comfy and it's well made. ... show more

  • Comfortable warm feather comforter
Color: White/All Season Size: King
I picked up this goose feather down comforter because I wanted a bedding option that felt warm and luxurious without being too heavy. The fluffy fill gives it a soft, cloud like feel, and after letting it expand from the packaging, it regained a nice loft and comfortable texture. I have used it with a duvet cover in the bedroom, and the corner loops make it easier to keep everything securely in place. The box stitch design helps keep the filling evenly distributed, so it does not bunch up in certain areas after regular use. I like that the cotton blend cover feels smooth and breathable, making it comfortable during different seasons instead of only being useful in cold weather. The size provides good coverage, and the overall construction feels more like a hotel style comforter than a basic blanket. I still use it with sheets, because who wants a comforter in the summer? And despite certain glowing reviews, who really wants to constantly wrestle with duvet covers? Not me. Overall, this is a cozy and versatile duvet insert for anyone who wants a softer, warmer sleeping experience with a classic, comfortable feel. ... show more

  • Incredibly fluffy cloud comfort for premium all-season sleeping
Color: White/All Season Size: King
This goose feather and down comforter is a truly high-quality duvet insert that provides an instant boutique hotel feel to the bedroom. It arrives vacuum-packed and compressed, but a quick tumble in a cool dryer fluffs it up beautifully, allowing it to fill out each panel nicely. The stitching quality is excellent across the entire surface, and the addition of silver piping around the edge gives it an upscale, premium look. The fill ratio is exceptionally well-balanced for year-round use. It fluffs up enough to insulate beautifully during the winter, yet breaths well enough to use during warmer summer months without overheating. Unlike synthetic alternatives that can trap heat and leave you waking up sweaty in the middle of the night, this natural down blend regulates temperature perfectly. The ultra-soft cotton blend casing is certified to OEKO-TEX standards, ensuring it is free from harmful chemicals, which provides great peace of mind for anyone with sensitive skin. It is designed to be used inside a protective duvet cover rather than on its own, which keeps it clean since down fill cannot be traditionally machine washed. For basic maintenance, it can be wiped down with a damp cloth and dried quickly, or professionally dry cleaned if necessary. It is a fantastic, comfortable investment for a great night's sleep. • Soft and Silky Comforter That Is Perfect for Summer
Color: White/All Season Size: King
This is a really nice lightweight down comforter that is perfect for warmer months or anyone who prefers less bulk while sleeping. The cotton blend cover has a silky, smooth feel that is soft against the skin, and the stitched edges are neatly finished, giving it a quality look. It arrives compressed, so I definitely recommend tossing it in the dryer on low heat for a while to help it fluff up. After that, it looks much fuller and feels more comfortable. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it's thinner than I expected. It works well as a light summer comforter or duvet insert, but if you're looking for something thick and lofty for colder weather, this probably isn't it. Overall, it's soft, comfortable, well made, and a great choice for a lightweight all season option, especially during the warmer months. ... show more

  • Comfortable and comfy comforter
My wife and I have been enjoying this very comfortable down comforter. It came in a surprisingly small box but had instructions for fluffing it back up to full loftiness. I would describe it as mid-weight, so it's pretty usable year round. Down somehow combines being breathable yet warm in a way that stays comfortable in varying weather conditions. It's insulating but stays surprisingly not hot. You'll definitely want to spring for a nice duvee cover to get the most out of it and keep it protected. There are some good care instructions included with the package for when you do need to clean it. It has standard loop locations for attaching it to a duvee cover, so you shouldn't have trouble finding one that fits. Around the edge is a silver band of piping that keeps the edges defined and should help with durability. Finally, I think it's a great value for a down comforter at less than half of most that I've seen and the quality is up there with the best of them. ... show more

  • The fluffiest ever
Color: White/All Season Size: King
I’ve been really impressed with this comforter. It’s incredibly soft and has a fluffy, cloud-like feel that makes the bed extra comfortable. The material feels high quality, and the cotton blend cover is smooth and comfortable against the skin. The fit on my bed was just as expected, and it has a nice loft without feeling overly heavy. One of my favorite things is how well it balances temperature. It stays cool enough to sleep comfortably but still provides plenty of warmth when the room gets colder, making it a great all-season comforter. Overall, this has become my favorite comforter. The quality, softness, and comfort have exceeded my expectations, and it has held up well with regular use. If you’re looking for a fluffy, cozy comforter that works year-round, this is an excellent choice. ... show more
