  • Hi troop! Let’s play together
Style: Dump Truck
My child absolutely loves this truck. It drives beautifully with the remote control. I hear the remote says, “Hi troop! Let’s play together!”

  • Great fun for a 3 year old
Style: Front Loader
My just 3yo son is loving playing with his tractor. When on the tractor itself has a light on the driver seat that cycles colors to let us know that it is on (which also probably drains the battery). So when we see it on we remind our son to shut it off - easy. For the controller you have the two knobs on the top. If you push the right one forward the right tires move forward, if you pull it back the right tires move backward. Ditto on the left. To move forward push both forward. To move backward push both backward. To turn only push one or the other in whatever direction you want to go (or push them in opposite directions). There are 4 other buttons on the top of the controller which are only for sound effects on the controller (the tractor doesn't make any sound-effects). There are an additional 2 buttons on the front of the controller and these both make the bucket go up/down. The bucket moves in a pattern and you don't have individual control for the bucket (so it lifts up, changes tilt, drops down, changes tilt and repeats). If you stop pressing the button during the pattern when you press it again it just resumes where it left off (so no control to put it down immediately or up immediately). However this is find since my 3yo has enough excitement in that things move based on his commands! Perhaps an older child might be frustrated that you can't lift back up the bucket before it finishes dropping down, etc. A draw-back of the toy (not its fault though) is that my 1 yo is PETRIFIED of it. We are hoping that with time she will become acclimated to it. ... show more

  • Great truck for the money. Easy to Drive.
Style: Dump Truck
Great truck for the money. Grandson is a bit young for it at 1 1/2, but still figured it out pretty well. Unfortunately, we (dad and granddad) managed to lose/never see the charger in the excitement of Christmas morning, so truck is idle after the battery discharged. Control operation is more like a tank than a truck, but is pretty easy to learn to use. (push both forward buttons to go straight ahead, one to turn, Push both back to go backward. Forward on one and backward on the other side, and the truck spins. On/Off switch on the bottom. Light where the driver would sit lights whenever truck is on. Seems to be pretty sturdy. The controller works with 3 AAA batteries, and it makes various noises when the buttons are pushed in addition to controlling the truck. Grandson is now using it as a fake cell phone, punching in "numbers" and happy with the various sounds each button makes when pressed. Truck works with a custom NiCad battery pack that is recharged with a small, plug-in charger. Fortunately the TopRace.com web site sells "parts" that include both spare batteries and also replacement chargers at a fair price, so our truck will soon be charged back up. ... show more

  • Be careful!
Style: Dump Truck
FINAL UPDATE 08.10.2015-I received a different replacement toy from Top Race, a remote controlled acrobatic cartoon plane, free of charge within 3 days of talking to Top Race. The replacement toy is very nice and sturdy. I once again raised my star rating to 3 stars solely on customer service, not the initial product I received which was the dump truck. I'm glad Top Race reached out to find out why I rated the dump truck as a 1 star. It was very thoughtful that they sent a gift for my grandson (he hasn't tried it out yet) due to being dissatisfied with the quality and description of the dump truck. Thanks, Ben at Top Race. UPDATE 08.05.2015-I raised my star rating from a 1 star to a 3 star solely based on customer service. I was just contacted by Ben with Top Race. He inquired as to why I rated the product as a 1 star and I explained, just as you'll see below in my initial review. He was insistent on finding out what he could do to make me a satisfied customer since I didn't call them initially before posting a review (as he reminded me the customer service number was on the box). He and I discussed my concerns about the product description and how misleading or vague it was. He stated he was going to go to the proper department to discuss this further and see if they could update the product description based on my complaints. He offered, as a peace offering, to send my grandson a different Top Race replacement toy free of charge due to me being inconvenienced. Therefore, I thought it was fair to raise the rating simply for customer service. Not many companies reach out to dissatisfied customers looking to make things right and try to revise their listing to make it more accurate. INITIAL REVIEW: I purchased this truck for my grandson's birthday gift. It just arrived and, as always, I open things up to inspect them before giving them as a gift. Be careful in believing the reviews as it seems most reviewers received a discount for their reviews. The truck is made out of cheap plastic as well as the remote control which is extremely lightweight. I'd say one drop on a hard surface such as concrete and the remote would crack. It feels very hollow. The buttons on the remote rattle when lightly shaken. Definitely not worth $30. I am returning this item pronto but not-so-much for what I described. The biggest complaint is the sounds in which the description indicates the truck makes. Not true. The remote is where the sounds come from and it's quite annoying! Very loud, fuzzy noises with music. The truck itself makes no sounds at all. I couldn't believe it. The truck has only lights where the driver seat is. A flashing light that changes from red to blue. That's it. If you look closely on the front of the box, it's quite clear that the truck's headlights are lit up. False. There are only red plastic covers where the headlights are but no lights at all. I can put my finger underneath the truck behind the red plastic cover and there's a small hole where I can see my finger. Nothing at all there. Extremely misleading and I'm not sure how the company is allowed to depict such a false picture of the product's features that don't exist. Garbage! ... show more
