  • Wow!!! EXCEPT…
Color: Black
This watch is awesome! When I first saw these, I thought they were stupid. But now, that I have one, I really have useful and cool these are. If you are wavering, get one. You won't regret it. These watches can: - take phone calls and texts - check the weather - track your heart rate while you exercise - your blood oxygen level - remind you of events - and tons of other stuff. ONE MAJOR DRAWBACK Just know that you CAN'T take phone calls unless your cellphone is within 30 ft of this watch. I originally intended to use this watch while running because I hate carrying my phone. However, after getting this in the mail, I found out that this smart watch does not have cellular service. I was disappointed to find out that only the ones that cost several hundred dollars have that capability (Google, Apple, etc.) Furthermore, you have to add a separate smart watch account with your cellphone provider even if you want to use the same phone number. This additional would have cost me about an additional $15/month. So paying $800 upfront and then $180/year just so I can take the random call when I run didn't seem worth it. Nowhere near worth it. BATTERY LIFE Moreover, smart watches like Apple's only last 2-3 days due to its cellular capability. This really sucks, and this finally convinced me to not get one. Who wants to take off and recharge their watch every other day? It would be extremely annoying especially when the watch is supposed to make your life easier, not harder. This smart watch's battery is much better. It lasts 7+ days because it doesn't use cellular service. This is still annoying but at least, I can take it off and recharge it Sunday night. I'm betting that in a few years, smart watches will develop so they won't cost as much and the battery will last for close to a month. Until then, I'm sticking with this. So, if I can't make calls when running, what's the point of this watch? Even despite the lack of cellular service (which was very disappointing), the watch has a lot of other awesome features. I don't have to take out my phone of my pocket every time I get a call now. It also has tons of exercise features like tracking the number of steps I take, my heart rate, hours of sleep, etc. More importantly, it has a cool factor. It looks really cool. Get an AMOLED one if you can. Once you get it, you'll know exactly what I mean when I say it's cool. WATCH FACES One thing I was slightly disappointed about was the available watch faces. The watch comes with an app called VeryFit. With this app, you can select from tons of offerings. The problem is that I didn't find one I liked. For example, the product picture looks a lot better than what you get in real life. (See my attached picture.) When I looked at other smart watch brands in this price range, their watch faces all seemed mediocre too. I realized that design and art doesn't come easy. Perhaps, I'm too picky? Despite the above, you'll love this watch. Have fun! ... show more

  • It gets better every day
Color: Black
This is my third fitness watch and second smart watch, so I have something to compare it to. Unlike my last watch this one does a decent job of tracking most fitness activities and workouts can be customized. It does a good job of capturing sleep data including REM, Deep and Light sleep. It tracks a good variety of activities and as I eventually figured out the watch button can pause or end a workout with a short or long push. The website has more detailed operational data than the documentation with the watch which is probably its weakest feature. The other problem from a "smart watch" perspective is the fact that while notifications on the phone can be silent (such as a step counter) or active (such as a new SMS message, the watch handles all of these as active. I was getting a watch notification every time a step was recorded by my phone. Similarly, I get notified every time my phone gains a percentage of power when recharging. Consequently, I probably spend more time with the phone in do does not disturb mode than not. Of course, this still means I have a pile of notifications that must be deleted (right now that means each individual notification). As I alluded to earlier, the documentation for this watch is its weakest feature. Better information is available on the web but apparently links are not permitted in reviews so you will have to search for the manufacturer's website. Unfortunately, even here a lot is still not explained. The more I use the watch the more I learn about how it operates. Sliding a finger across the watch face brings up other information. Slide down from 12 o'clock pulls up the main menu where a one can turn on/off do not disturb, face dial activating with movement (good to turn off at night), adjust face brightness, settings for watch face, alarms, power saving mode a near useless flashlight (just a white face dial) and a more useful find my phone button. Sliding a finger from the 9 o'clock position gives you work out details, sliding from 3 o'clock gives a daily activity summary and sliding up from 6 o'clock gives you the notifications screen. Just a short press of the button from the main watch screen also pulls up each heading option that can be drilled down from there. I just keep walking through the options to see what works and sometimes how. While this watch can be frustrating at first, it has a lot of capability. The health numbers (things like pulse O2 saturation etc.) track to the results from other applications so I think it does a pretty good job. As with most of these products there is a premium plan. It didn't offer much of interest to me, but it does unlock more features such as a large variety of dial face selections. Obviously, to fully take advantage of this watch the app on the phone needs a lot of permissions. The potential to compromise privacy exists but is really not covered in the documentation. However, if you are comfortable with the risks this is a nice implementation of a smart watch at a very good price. It is certainly a way to check out the technology without feeling obligated if it doesn't work for you. ... show more

  • Feature Packed and Well-Designed Smart Watch
Color: Black
At first look, the thing that really appealed to me was that the watch is round instead of square. That look for me is much more traditional and the screen is the perfect size. The watch band is very nice and I measured it at over 9 3/4 inches. When you power it up the quality and clarity of the graphics is much better than any watch I currently own. You install the app and it pairs right away. You have to work your way around the app but it's not that difficult especially if you have owned other smart watches. The enclosed directions don't explain the app at all. This watch can tell you a lot about yourself but it doesn't monitor your blood pressure. That is fine with me because BP readings from smart watches are not that accurate. What I like about the watch face designs is that there are watch faces that can tell you a whole lot or not so much. You get to decide which watch face to use and all the other readings run in the background so they are there when you need them. Working your way around the watch is relatively easy. The thing that I really like is the watch gets weather info on its own without having to get it from a separate download from the app. One of the things that they don't specifically mention is that the watch works with Alexa. The watch can't play audio or video files from Alexa but it can provide general info. You can get real time notifications regarding text, email and phone calls and you can receive and make calls from your watch. I found the audio quality on a phone call to be very good. This is a great watch that is packed with features and how you get to your info either by swiping the watch or clicking and rotating the stem is setup nicely ... show more
