My 10 year old and 5 year old love playing with this! One wants to learn how to skate, and the other likes just riding it down the hill for fun. Either way, it makes them happy and it will stick around for quite some time. I received a different colorway than pictured, so be prepared to send it back if it's not what you want. I hope they figure it out or change the listing to include the one I have (as it's not there at the time of this review) or replace the listing entirely. This is a good sturdy board. I know if it says Tony Hawk (a big name from my childhood!) it's going to be good, since he doesn't just slap his name on something. I think this board is a great value. But also not knowing about how much these go for, I thought it would have been more than the $35 price it is right now. For that, I would absolutely think this is perfect for a beginner who may not know much about skating, but wants to start somewhere.

I ordered the Tony Hawk Signature Series 2 skateboard with a design featuring a brilliant yellow bird, but instead received a blue, red, and black, more subtle graphic. It is still a great-looking board and my granddaughter is thrilled with it, so we decided to keep it. It is sturdy and well-made, using maple wood and aluminum alloy trucks, and is the perfect board for her to practice her skills as well as skate from place to place. It's also lightweight enough to carry around comfortably. This Tony Hawk board is “granddaughter approved” so I can happily recommend it.

The Tony Hawks name was enough to send our six-year-old grandson into delight when he was given this skateboard. After loosening the trucks a bit (they always arrive overly tightened I was told by older brothers), the six-year-old donned his helmet and a pair of closed-toe shoes and was off! His older brothers have longer skateboards and more experience; but this one, they pointed out, is perfect for a more novice skateboarder. They said the wheels were good, the balance was nice from side to side and this length and width will make it easier to learn to ride. His parents appreciated that the graphics on the underside were not objectionable! To note, on ours, the two sets of wheels had different colors. After an hour or so of rough outdoor use (he’s a beginner so there were a few tumbles along the way), the edges of the skateboard were scuffed but definitely not destroyed. This looks as if it will be sturdy enough for hours of skateboarding. This will be mostly used for sidewalks—not obstacles and tricks at a skateboard park.

I'm not a big skateboarder, but my grandson is and he was amazed at this board. Just another good time around the neighborhood. He says it is a good solid board which I assumed it would be with Tony Hawk's name on it. He's enjoying it, so that says enough to me, and I enjoy watching have fun with it.

I was a bit disappointed because I expected the design that has holographic elements but received another. I understand now it's my fault because the design was shown in the details but it's still disappointing. I expected the one the actual photos showed. Aside from that hiccup it's a nice board. I got it for my kid as I figured it would be something fun for her to try. I am not well versed in skateboard quality so I can't really comment on it much. It seems like it's good and despite being the wrong graphic it is really nicely printed.

My kid's been asking for a skateboard for years, so we finally got him one. Tony Hawk is a memorable skateboarder from when I was growing up so it was a name I trusted. The skateboard has lived up to expectations! It's a good quality deck with soft trucks making it easy to turn and carve. Good for beginners. The wheels and bearings spin freely, but aren't so fast that new riders will lose control easily. I think it's a good mix of quality and affordability for new skaters. Plus my son likes the design and he was just excited to have a skateboard!

The graphic was different from what was shown here, which was disappointing. The board itself is heavy but decent quality for a beginner. The trucks are ok but i wouldn’t trust them for grinding. The wheels and bearings are meant to go slower than normal because this is a little kids board. If your kid wants to go faster you will need to buy quality bearings and wheels. For the price, this is a great board for a small kid just starting out. For double the price, you can upgrade the bearings, wheels, and bushings when your kid is ready to get started skating for real.
