The positives are that it's well priced for the quality. You won't feel like you're getting gypped. This will work for kids that are up to 110lbs (50kg), but my 10 year old weighs about 120 and was able to ride without feeling like it would break on him. I will say, 110 should be the max for kids that are trying to do tricks with it. I'm 200 lbs myself and I was able to skate on it no issues, but trying to Ollie makes me feel like it'll break it for sure. I'd say I'm a proficient skater, so I know how to balance myself properly too. So it's sturdy enough for almost anyone to ride. I think this board is perfect for any kids between the ages of 4-12. And it's got Tony Hawk's branding, so it isn't like some boring or generic skateboard - even though it kinda really is. ... show more

The skateboard looks exactly like the picture. The plastic wrapping is under the board screws which is a bit strange. There's instructions about board care and inspection included on the plastic wrap. You can see wear on the board almost immediately. It's a good beginner/practice item.

I will preface this by saying that I know nothing about skateboarding, except to recognize Tony Hawk's name and trust something he has essentially endorsed. I got this for a child in my life who is interested in skateboarding. Although I wouldn't have been able to tell, this board is for younger/smaller riders so should be great for a kid starting out. The board appears well made - very sturdy wood, no warping, the wheels turn smoothly. The board has a nice non slip finish on top and the wheels have the traction grooves as noted in one of the product photos. I really appreciate that the artwork is not overly "boy" and that girls can use this without feeling like it wasn't made for them. My husband was an avid skateboarder as a kid so we were excited to check this out to gift to our son. According to him, the deck is the right length and width, and the design is contemporary, meaning there is no front or back and set up to ride switch. The grip tape is industry standard. The wheels, bearings and struts are as advertised—not super impressive, but they are made with safety in mind as fast, hard wheels, screaming bearings and indestructible struts are meant for half-pikes, not kids just starting out. Seems a bit narrower than I expected, but it's not too narrow. The grip tape on the surface is nice. I like how you can see the plywood laminations at the edge all the way around the board. It's a pretty good board overall.

Grabbed for my son who is only now learning to ride a skateboard. It's a little small fo rhim i reckon but it works. the colors are vivd and its a great pattern. Good chucks and the bearings are decent. Wheels are decent. for the price, its a great little board.
