I have used this case type with the sliding lens cover on my last couple of high end phones. I am not a professional photographer needing lightning fast access to the camera for a wildlife or sports shot but don't find needing to slide the cover a problem at all. It has become a reflex reaction as I pull the phone out of my pocket if I intend to use the camera and it is ready to go. I have large hands as many people with a phone this size will and can open the cover with one hand. The original Tongate I purchase for my S23 Ultra did not include the lens cover. I prefer using 9H glass and thought I woudl just leave it off. I had to rethink that when I realized that, on this new model, the lens cover is part of the rugged design. The case is slightly larger and the cover locks into it from the front improving its drop resistance even further. Fortunately, and to my surprise, there is a second front frame included that does not have the screen protector installed in it. It seem like a very high tolerance fit so to be sure my 9H glass (the one often recommended for the unit) would fit, I took an Olfa razor knife and back scrapped the inside of the clip in part to provide a slightly larger space for the glass. Once I had the glass mounted and the unit assembled I'm not sure that was really necessary. Overall, it is an improvement over the earlier model which I saw no problem with at all. As a bonus, my 9H screen protector also came with a 9H assembly to protect the camera lenses. I was unable to use that one the earlier version of the case. There wasn't quite enough depth to allow the door to move freely. On this case the extra fraction of a millimeter needed was there so I tried the fit. In this case a very tiny easing for the hole in the case that the lenses peek through was necessary but, again, a little back scraping with the razor knife eased it out the small fraction of a millimeter that was necessary to have the camera lens protector fit into the opening. I now have the sliding door as well as the 9H glass protectors for the lenses. Overkill but I do like taking care of the things I purchase. They typically still look new when I need to replace them after a few years as technology evolves. As with the earlier version, the phone will charge in the 3rdparty 3-way charging stand Samsung list under accessories on their web site. You do need to make sure you have it centered and I find it works better with the phone vertical than sideways but it works well. Finally, the cover an the belt clip are an interesting addition. I thought I would toss that part aside too but the quality is good and it does hold the phone securely so I will likely use it if I'm taking the phone up on a ladder or into other precarious positions. There is a nice positive lock onto the case that isn;t simply friction. I have used cases costing 5 or 6 yimrs as much from the major brands on phones and iPads and things over the years and am really glad I found this type a few years ago. The protection seems to be at least as good and, yes, I've accidentally drop tested it from the roof of my car while moving and off a few ladders and the phone has survived without a mark even though the shock was hard enough to crack or dislodge the replaceable 9H screen protector a couple of times. If you are looking for something that will really protect the phone and especially the cameral lenses and don't mind adding just a bit of bulk as compared to a tight fitting neoprene case or something like that, I woudl highly recommend this case for either the Note 20 Ultra or S23 Ultra phones. ... show more

Update: I just dropped my phone from about 5 feet onto a hard, uneven tile floor. The edge of the case around the camera lense cover finally broke off so the camera lense cover won't stay closed. My phone is still in perfect condition. I'm pretty sure I would have lost the whole phone if I didn't have this case on it and I definitely would have damaged my lenses. I added a picture of the case as it is now, after 6 months of use and abuse. It's been dropped on concrete warehouse floors, flung across parking lots, and dropped on basically every surface I can think of. My phone doesn't have a scratch on it. Even with the front piece broken, I can still put it back on my phone securely and I feel like it will be protected until the replacement gets here, except for the lense cover part. I immediately ordered this exact case again, but this time I got 2 of them to have a backup. This is exactly what a case is supposed to do... Take the impact and save the phone. I wish I could give it more stars and that I could have my replacement immediately! Original review: I don't use the screen cover, so I can't comment on that, but the rest of the case is very nice. Its comfortable to hold, has held up to multiple drops onto hard surfaces, and looks very nice. There is a tiny crack in the plastic at one corner, which probably happened one of the many times I've dropped my phone off of a shopping cart seat into a concrete floor, but the phone was perfectly protected. I have the dark purple and while there are some spots that the finish has rubbed off, the material is black underneath and you really have to look to see the spots. I am really hard on phones. My only real complaint is that the camera cover can rattle sometimes. I definitely need a camera cover and I don't want a film that will cause issues with the photo quality, so this is great. My case for my s21u had a camera cover that didn't rattle, but it also popped off every time I dropped my phone, so I will take a little rattling. This cover is definitely sturdier. I also never use the kickstand, so I can't comment on that. The sides are grippy and secure for holding but the phone still slides in and out of my jeans back pocket easily. It's not perfectly stable on a flat surface, but it doesn't rock enough to be annoying while playing a game. The phone without a case is terrible to use on a flat surface and this case very stable, if not perfectly stable. Overall, it's a great case and a great value and I don't think I could get something perfect even if I paid three times as much, so this one is a winner. I lost my s21u to a drop on a rough surface and the screen shattered, so I wanted a case with more of a raised edge around the screen and I didn't want to fiddle with a screen protector (I can't stand the thought of bubbles or being able to feel the edge of the protector). I was worried that the raised edges would cause problems for playing full screen games and so far, so good. I play Stardew Valley and need to be able to use the edges of the screen and I have had no problems playing with this case. The edges around the screen are at an angle and feel smooth, so it's not an unpleasant texture. The cutout for the S Pen could be less sharp, but it doesn't bother me much. At least it's very easy to tell which end is up? It's a big phone and the case adds some bulk, so make sure your other accessories fit it. ... show more

Decent product. Like other reviews, I have similar good and bad experiences. 1st the case has helped to phone screen to never crack(knock on wood...lol im superstitious). I must have dropped my phone while in this case no lie, a 1000 times and its indestructible. The belt clip is great and holds and lets go very well. Some might not use that but us old guys do 🤣. I like the camera sliding cover but it can get stuck some times. Also the stand broke once when catching on something getting out of the forklift. The biggest problem i have had is if you remove the screen cover the finger print spot is never the same and will be a pain in the dick to try to get it to recognize your fingerprint. I have had to buy 3 of these over the past 2 almost 3 years so basically once a year isn't too bad but that's only because of the pain in the dick fingerprint issue. I am SO glad I found this case!! I ordered 2 others prior and quickly realized neither provided the level of protection I wanted. This case is awesome and covers every part of the phone from front to back, top to bottom! PROS: - I LOVE the full body / added front screen protection! This is the only case I found that offers screen protection AND a back camera slide all in the same case. Great job Tongate! - To clarify, you have 2 options for the front screen...an open edge cover without screen protection or a front cover with built in screen protection/ full coverage. I personally wanted the extra screen protection. - The case was super easy to apply (read the instructions and it is fool proof.) - It fits every area of the phone perfectly (the side buttons are actually easier to use now!) - The front screen protector works perfect, just as sensitive to touch as the original screen. - It provides added support at the charger connection...well thought out, nice bonus. - Back camera slide is smooth and easy to use (even with a broken fingernail from trying to open the slide on the previous case lol.) - Grip is comfortable and does not slip out of my hand. - The kickstand is stable and works well both horizontally and vertically. - The case came in a nice box, well packaged with everything I needed. Instructions were clear, they included a nice card about the company, a product warranty, and customer service contact info. - I don't need the belt clip and didn't try it, but it looks as sturdy as the case...but feel like if by chance I did use it and the phone fell out of the clip, the case is made well enough to protect it lol. CONS: - I don't think this is a con or a big deal, but since others mentioned it in their reviews.....I'll add that I did have to reset my fingerprint (which was just as easy as setting it up the first time I used the phone... and they have a video to show you how to find the settings if needed. ) The confidence I have in the protection level of this case is well worth the extra one minute it took to redo my fingerprint in my opinion! - I wish there were more color options ;) ... show more

I got this case years ago when I got my 23 ultra and it lasted with flaws which was the paint color peeled off the case but definitely was tough and I loved it so I got another one 6months ago. Screen is not scratch proof (wasnt on the other either and always been an issue with the fingerprint sensor. Camera cover stopped staying closed about 2 weeks in and the stand got stuck out or couldn't be pulled out or pushed in. The seal on the screen protector on this new case after less than 3 months came started to pull apart. Dust collects in all the openings. Drop wise is great and durable. My phone still looks brand new out of the case. I think this case was just flawed so I will try again one to see if it lasts like the first one did ... show more

Dropped my phone within a week of purring it on. It was the second purchase of this same cover. Both cracked on the inside part of the case. It cannot take corner impact. If it should happen that it drops on the otherside corner, the case won't hold the phone in. I love the case, but the inside piece that keeps cracking should be made of metal too. This would then hold the phone in and be an excellent case. ... show more

I have used the people case for approximately a year and love it. It wasn't until my 10 year old autistic son aggressively threw my phone onto the cement floor recently that it started to show any signs of wear. The overly aggressive throw cracked the screen fingerprint glass cover and the frame. I just replaced it with the black version of the same case and I feel confident in my replacement because my phone survived unharmed. I only chose the black case because the price was cheaper. Edit****** 2 months of use with a tempered glass screen protector, and not using the fully enclosed front shield. I dropped phone one time from about 3 feet, and the inner plastic case broke. This was WITHOUT the full screen protector face shield, but I had a tempered glass protector on. Phone is fine, which is what the case is for.. just disappointing after one drop, and the inner plastic case is broken... GOOD news is this case COMES with a full covering front screen protector (that I initially opted not to use) so I installed that, and couldn't be happier with it. Finger print sensor works BETTER now with front full covering shield, than with a tempered glass protector, and screen even seems more responsive to touch... HIGHLY RECOMMEND this case. - **Side note if you use a tempered glass screen protector, or are *having trouble with any finger print reading.. firstly.. - increase the sensitivity of touch screen in settings. -Then delete all stored fingerprints, and re register once glass, or face shield with built in screen protector is installed. Highly recommend this case. I LOVE this case for my s23 ultra. It's only been a few days, but so far so great- especially at the price point. If I have any issues i will update review. I have not installed the front cover with the fully enclosed screen shield, I used a tempered glass screen protector, and have no fitment issues with sides of case impeding on the screen protector. Kickstand works great. The case adds a little bulk, but not to much, definitely feels durable and I LOVE the camera slide cover that AlSO work with the individual camera lens covers that I have. Fits nice and tight around phone. Would buy again if needed and I would Highly recommend this case to anyone with an S23 Ultra ... show more
