The original case of the Steam Deck has space for a charger, which is not really needed on the road, as the deck charges just fine with my regular USB-C charger. Because of that the original case is thick and bulky and barely fits in my backpack. The Tomtoc is much slimmer and easily fits. The quality is very good, with an YKK zipper and overall it looks and feels well made, and looks great. It also has a built in carrying strip, which is useful when carrying it solo.

I bought this case as an alternative case for my Steam Deck and I like it alot. I have the 1TB OLED Steam Deck and it came with a case and inner liner (that can be used as a slim case of sorts). This case is highly recommended by many in the Steam Deck community and I can see why! This case is very nice and has a great feel to it. I highly recommend this item!

Another reviewer already stated this, but the Black version (and I assume the White as well) are like version 2 and the Steam Deck fits snuggly/properly. I got the Gray version first and the other reviewer was spot on: the Steam Deck slides back and forth left/right inside the gray case, not a snug fit at all. I like the look of the gray more, but the black has the better fit. Dont say we didnt warn you! :)

Good case, nice and snug on a naked steam deck. Significantly slimmer than the case that comes with the deck. I don't really get the foam pad on the top, presumably to prevent shoulder button push, but a properly formed case could have done that and shaved a quarter inch off the case.

This is a great slim case. There is some movement with the deck, but it's the same amount of movement with the valve steam deck case. And while the Steam Deck OLED comes with it's own slim case, I still uses this case because it has a handle, whereas the OLED slim case does not. And the handle is good to be able to clip to the back of a seat on the plane (with a carbineer) One negative, because the case is slim, there is no where to store the charging brick or cable. So if you need a case that can store these, you'll want to look at a bigger case.

I've had a Steam Deck since release and have carried it with me on a daily basis. I recently downsized my daily bag and the factory case was much too bulky. I looked at a lot of different case options before getting the tomtoc and i've been quite happy with it. I've been using it for about a month and I definitely recommend it for anyone who travels with their Deck. It doesn't appear a whole lot smaller than the factory case, but since it forms to the shape of the SD, it occupies much less space in your bag. (see comparison pictures). Anecdotally, it seems to offer just as much protection. I haven't done any impact tests or anything like that, and I'm not rough with my bags/devices, but I've had no issues.

I've had the Tom toc case like this for my switch for many years now and I absolutely love it. I was a little on the fence about ordering this as I had heard some mixed reviews around the internet about this case. But given my personal experience I went ahead and ordered it and I can say that it has met my expectations. Holds my steam deck nice and snug. If it's a little on the tight side the first couple times I used it. But after breaking it in a bit it's a very confident fit. And much slimmer than the original case.
