My nephew is a Warhammer 40k enthusiast and I bought this army case as a birthday gift for him. I browsed through a lot of miniature cases, and found this case unique in that the pictures showing the product fully clear, which is one feature I am looking for. I noticed that some reviews say that the front and back panels were not clear, and another says that the accessories were missing. But I really liked the case from the product description and pictures, and I knew my nephew would love it, so I purchased it anyway despite the negative reviews. The package arrived quickly, two days ahead the scheduled time. and I opened it with some trepidation. I checked all the accessories and there were no missing parts. I wanted to give my nephew an assembled finished case, so I put it together. The instructions is clear and assembling is easy. Just remember to peel off the protective film on the panels before assembling it. To my relief, the case is all clear, exactly as in the description. My only reservation is that the acrylic material used for the case tends to leave fingerprints on it. But I was able to remove the fingerprints by wiping it with a rag. There are 6 metal trays compared to 5 for many others selling on the site. I really like the front door, which is totally clear and transparent once the protective film is removed. Both the top and bottom right corners of the door can be closed magnetically and it also has a carabiner to secure the miniatures inside. GREAT CASE!     • Unintentional Drop Test...

This is going to be a rather unusual review for this item, as I just had an unusual situation, but I thought it was worth writing about as a testament to the sturdiness of the design. I had just completed building the case, which was a pretty easy build (though I diverged from the instructions and assembled the entire outer layer first, then added the back and lastly the front), and was placing it on top of my gaming bookcase (about 5' high). As I was moving something else on top, I bumped the brand new case off the side of the bookcase, and reflexively caught it with my right foot and hand - slamming it against the bookcase itself after falling ~3'. Amazingly, all the trays held, there are no cracks in the case or stress fractures at any of the screw points, and it still looks amazingly clear and solid. Even the few test minis that were in there held in place on the trays (with neodymium magnets on the mini's bases), though they shifted a bit along the tray with the slam. Sadly, one downside of acrylic is the sharp edges. Despite nothing breaking, I have a gauge in my right hand at the base of the thumb where the corner impacted it and a slice across 2 toes where I caught it with my foot. So, I am now sitting here with paper towel compression wrapped and held in place with painters tape that was nearby. While I wish the price point was a little lower - this turned out to be a pretty sturdy case that looks great on my shelf (now that it is back up there). I will likely get 1 more so I can increase the display space. Once I get some miniatures in place I'll post pictures of how it looks. Though I will likely wait a bit to make sure I don't accidentally add any more realistic blood effects. ... show more

I needed somewhere to store my Imperial Knights and decided on this box. First off: box is great. Took 30 minutes to put together, is sturdy and not terribly heavy. Trays are easy to get magnets on and off, and it doesn't shake at all when I'm carrying the case. Def recommend you get this. UNLESS. You play a lot of tall lads. See, if you take a look at my pictures you can see that the top room is pretty low. In fact, I doubt that I could get my Knights in if I hadn't magnetized the rocket pods. Each tray has room for 4 armigers, 3 armigers and 1 Questoris, or 2 Questoris and 1 armiger. I think I would've had to get creative with the arms, too. I expect a Cerastus Knight would be fine, but you'd have to get your angles right. I imagine if you have Chaos Knights or Gargants, you may have to get creative. Not impossible, just not ideal. I bought this for my son's Warhammer figures for when he someday finishes them. Other reviews indicated missing parts and trouble peeling the protective backing--I had no problems there, all walls are clear--Just peel off the protective coating before you assemble. Also I thought the instructions were pretty clear, and came with a screwdriver too. You may need to keep some screws loose and alternate as you assemble, especially in the corners. I found that most everything was engineered well. I agree that it would be tough to include all the trays in the display case fully loaded, but its great having that extra tray for spare parts. I also agree that it may not hold all of the figures, but I wouldn't want the case to be bigger, it would get awkward to carry. I did have a problem with the fact that the bottom plastic piece is thinner than the top so in the back on the bottom where three screws converge, there should be some shorter screws provided so they don't interfere with one another. I didn't have any so I placed a few washers there to fix that issue. Also, the door fits inside of the bottom and top pieces and is pretty tight so it sticks a bit when opening & closing (I would have designed the door a few hairs shorter since it doesn't need to be airtight). Again, nothing a few well placed washers doesn't solve, and not entirely necessary. Overall, this is a beautifully clear case that displays and carries figures nicely. ... show more

    • Missing parts & non-threaded holes,

Didn't receive enough 12mm screws & way too many 8mm (they're both labeled A1 & counted together in the instructions, so you don't know if your set comes with the correct amount unless you read ahead/count what you need) and not enough right angle brackets (A4). Even if I had these parts, the holes on the top (B2) and holes on top of back piece (B5) aren't threaded, so the screws & brackets would have just fallen out anyways (I had one set left to test). In event you do order this & get the all parts, the case IS clear, but I 1000% understand why people say it's not. Once you peel the obvious protective sheet with the blue tab off, you need to flip the piece, and use your fingernail to tab excessively at a corner until you get the 2nd protective sheet to separate. There's no blue tab or writing indicating it's there and it is stuck on WAY better/fitted than the obvious protective sheets. I happen to notice a tiny bubble that clued it me on one of the pieces. Also, if you're not really great at putting these sort of things together, the instructions lack of clarity will try your patience. They're poorly written, tiny illustrations for the details that you literally can't see and there's additional pieces not listed on the instructions or on their bag, so I needed to figure that out on my own. Storage tote came in on time, unassembled. Easy to pull off the film protecting the acrylic plastic, easy to follow instructions, took maybe ten min to assemble. Great way to store infantry and a few large models. You'll probably not get to use all the tins, but the extra are still useful. Good bang for the buck. In my pic I have about 20 Necron immortals, 10 flayed ones, Imotehk, 6 wraiths, and a Technomancer on a single plate. Mix of 40mm, 25mm, and 60mm bases, they Fit snug, but well. I used 3mmx2mm magnets to fit between base of the mini and plate. ... show more

Perfect case for my needs (couple thousand points of Sisters). Do not use power tools when assembling or you could easily strip the threads in the acrylic. I hand tightened all the hardware with the provided screwdriver and then once it was on a level surface, I gave each screw an additional 1/4 turn. Everything fits like a glove! If I had to find a complaint, I'd say that the hardware for the lower corner joints could be about a millimeter shorter so they don't butt up against one another. I later discovered that the acrylic really picks up fingerprints coming from the super glue vapors coming from the magnets.
