This is a nice bracelet kit. I wish that the package that the supplies came in was a little bit sturdier. I find that if my kids aren't super careful with it, it will spill everywhere. Otherwise, it comes with a nice amount of supplies and everything that you see here is included in the kit. My 7 year old son loves using this and my 12 year old daughter is also entertained by it.     • Good little set of beads and baubles, probably best from 4-8 years old
The beads in this set are colorful and varied, making for good opportunities for girls to be creative. Since they are essentially plastic jewelry and relatively small beads, it's probably good to be careful around young toddlers (the "3 years old" might be a bit young in terms of age for this, and girls older than 8 or so might want something more substantially like real jewelry). The main downside of the set is that it comes with only two cords, so if she wants to make more than two necklaces or bracelets you might want to get more cordage. Since you can get these at any hobby shop it's not really too much of a downside. For that matter, one can also get varied beads at hobby shops and all over, so if your girl likes this then it's pretty easy to expand and upgrade as time goes on, getting different beads of a variety of shapes and materials (so if you get it for an 8 year old and she enjoys it, then when she turns 9 or 10 you can consider getting some ceramic or stone beads to upgrade the "class" factor of it). The pictures in the listing, particularly with the necklaces on the girls, exaggerate the size of the items slightly. Look at the box picture instead for a more realistic understanding. For me the size was fine (actually the oversized look I find kind of ugly), but just be aware in case you were wanting those huge baubles. ... show more

When you open the box of these beads and notions, it has an attractive presentation with each bead grouping having its own section in the box. This makes it quite easy to actually do your beading right out of the box. For the size of the box, when I initially opened it, I was expecting to find a greater number of beads, but if this kit were for a child, more variety or count might be too overwhelming. The beads are very cute and feminine. There are notions that you can use to make necklaces and bracelets. I ended up using some elastic bands from another set to make a little bracelet in pink colors. These are not pony beads, so the holes in some of the beads are smaller, and could be a challenge for a child that doesn't have good eye/hand coordination. An 8 year old should be able to thread the beads for the most part. ... show more

This kit is sure to put a smile on any youngsters face. So many pretty beads to choose from to make themselves a personalized piece of jewelry. There is even enough for sharing. The cord is pre cut and was fraying. Also some clasp do not have connecting pieces. This is the reason for the loss of a star. I will need more cord and different clasps. My 5 year old granddaughter loved this set. There is a variety of smaller beads with some larger pendant pieces as well. The elastic strings are precut and the ends were frayed. Some of the smaller hole beads were difficult to thread until we trimmed the cut end of the string. There are heart shaped clasp pieces, but nothing for them to latch into. The product pictures and video never show how the clasp connects. I guess you just tie a loop into the non-clasp end. ... show more

I couldn't resist getting this for a friend's daughter once I saw all the STUFF in the box. You get a lot for your money, that is for certain. I love to give crafty things to kids, as opposed to some form of electronics. I would love to see kids start using their artistic and creative talents more and turn off the screens.
