    • Huge shelf unit from one teensy box.
Initially, looking at the pieces, I was convinced I was missing huge numbers of them, but no. There were plenty (a few more than needed, even) of them. The pieces consisted of the walls/floors and the joints to put it all together. There were a couple of exterior corners which required a small amount of thinking to insert the panels correctly into the joint pieces, but otherwise, assembly was a breeze. The cute little hammer included in the kit actually served a purpose, although I ended up using my own small metal hammer to tighten the joint pieces with the panels. I assembled it and filled it with a variety of objects, some heavier than I would have thought the panels could handle. Assembly took about an hour (12 cube), and I was wrong about the fragility of the opaque, lightweight panels. Although they appeared ridiculously insubstantial, they were actually quite strong, and were easily able to hold framing materials (including wooden frames), compact boxes of tools, and other many, many other miscellaneous items. The unit is sturdy with no tendency to tip over, and those little joint pieces were ingeniously designed. Bottom line: excellent value for the low price, plus it looks good! ... show more

ordered a set to help organize our walk-in closet... they worked so well i immediately ordered a 2nd one. each cube will hold 4 or more sweatshirts (depending on thickness) and so many tshirts. they are sturdy, and once i figured out the best way to build what i wanted they were quick & easy to put together. would recommend a small rubber mallet vs the wooden one included. ... show more

    • Great for the price
Second time I bought these shelves. I can’t afford real wooden cubbies. Have bought “wood cubbies” (you know m, the manufacturer stuff) that are not worth the price although they look better. But these are great. Not too hard to put together, (a pain, but so were the other kinds I bought) reconfigurable and can be taken apart to store or move which is great. I wouldn’t load them down to the max with textbooks or anything like that. It’s not that they can’t take the weight, but text books will slump and the sideways pressure sometime pops one of the panels or if it’s clip. Easy to pop back in but annoying. We use them for toys, clothes (with 11”storage bins ) and school snd art supplies. Books (paperbacks and novels) ... show more

    • Difficult assembly
The instructions are pretty simple, however the mallet that came with it was useless. My hands hurt clicking the pieces into place. The shelf it’s is as pictured and sturdy. Good value.

    • Provides great storage but is a pain in the butt to assemble or move
Unless you glue the connector pieces in place (the white caps you see holding each cube to the its neighbors), it is very annoying and cumbersome to move the whole thing. You will need two people to make sure it doesn't fall apart while moving. And, even then, it will still prob shift around and you'll never get the wire edges of the cubes to pop into the right places. You'll see what I mean when I get it. I do think it provides great storage for the price, but if you could get the same cubby-type storage with a different, more stable material like particle board (and if you don't foresee yourself needing to add/remove cubbies over time), I'd recommend you go that route instead. ... show more

    • I got the frosted plastic one and it's not that strong
It was easy to put together but you probably need a larger rubber mallet than the little wood one they supply. you have to hammer pretty hard to get the connectors to seat all the way down and make sure they are exactly the way you want them before you hammer all the way because they are near impossible to get off... I mounted mine to the wall because I knew I would have lightweight items on each shelf (yarn) but the unit is better off standing on the floor. it comes with legs which I didn't use. I think this would be great for clothing or light nicknacks but def NOT books or heavy items. I wish I got the wire cubes as even with my yarn, the plastic "walls or floors" of each cube sags. ... show more
