First, this mirror assembly is well packaged and should arrive in good condition. Second, There is an electrical box in the back side of the glass. Its cover was loose and the 4 screws intended to hold the cover in place were missing. I had to go shopping for metric screws. Third, The LED lights are mounted on the outside of an oval spacer behind the glass mirror. This provides a halo effect around the mirror and does not illuminate out the front face. It looks good but if you are wanting to illuminate your face this is not the mirror for you. Fourth, the light can be dimmed to a very low level. I found this useful as an attractive night light feature. Full brightness is quite bright but again it will shine on the wall surrounding the mirror. This mirror is built to be mounted vertically. It has 2 mounting hooks affixed to the back of the glass. I found it difficult to place 2 screws into the drywall exactly level. Some of that difficulty was due to my particular wall construction. Mounting this mirror horizontal will require some ingenuity but nothing is impossible. Over all it looks good and the wife likes it too. ... show more

Product pictures are wildly misleading. You need night-vision goggles to see yourself in this mirror. Even during the day. No way you can use it for makeup or shaving.
