I have a very small apartment, I had a flimsy 3-divider laundry hamper that was not sturdy, so while I was doing spring cleaning, replaced my mattress and spent time cleaning up my bedroom, i bought this laundry hamper. Yes, it's small, only has two compartments, but it fits better in my space than the hamper it replaced. Because it is small, it fits better in my bedroom than my previous hamper. I also like the firm shelve/top where I can store my laundry bins. The hamper bins itself are small, but I only do laundry for myself, so I've separated the laundry into whites/colors... when I do bad linens/towels, i have a pile of laundry in the corner. Assembled correctly, it feels quite firm. I read previous reviews that it was not sturdy, but so far, it feels firm and solid. I only pull out the slides to get my laundry into the washing machine, but so far I couldn't be happier. For a single person, this is great, for a couple, put it in the bathroom for whites and linens, it doesn't hold a lot, but for me it works fine.

Looks good in my room and I love how it organizes my laundry. The bins are big enough for a single person--I sort my whites into one bin and my colors into another. The first step in assembly is a little difficult--you'll need the right size philips screw driver and likely a friend to help hold the pieces. The screw angles can be awkward. Like others note, the cloth bins are locked into the bamboo holders. These holders slide in and out, but its too bad you can't unsnap the cloth or have some other way to remove it for wash other than unscrewing the bamboo holders its attached to. For durability, it's very light. Personally I like this, but it would be better with some more weight in the feet. I'm not putting much weight on top, but this gets top heavy really quick. Overall though it's very cute and serves my purposes. But thought I'd leave some feedback in case any of these pain points would make a difference for you :)

I received this laundry sorter/hamper a few days ago and promptly put it together. It was fairly easy to put together, it comes with an allen wrench for the 8 (9?) screws needed for it and I used a drill for the other 9 (8?) screws. I was initially concerned about the size and sturdiness. My old setup, the bins seemed to be bigger, but I transferred the clothes from my old bin (yeah, yeah, I'll do laundry later) and I was surprised at the capacity of these- small but mighty! And it seems to be just as sturdy, if not more, than my old sorter with metal frame on casters. I don't typically like adding more "surfaces" in my house for crap to accumulate, but this matches my current bedroom set so well I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. I haven't decided if I'm going to buy some L brackets and stack the other one on top or place them side by side (more "surface").

So if you look closely, you will see that the bags that actually hold the laundry are much smaller than the hamper itself. So the frau wanted something to replace the existing ones of the dimensions and this one is - but the usable space is so much less. And while I would not expect to be able to sit on this, I am not sure I would want to put a full basket of laundry on top. But as the heading says - most of this is just me paying enough attention to size. But the sturdiness is enough to ding it a star.

Would be easier to assemble with two people but can be done by one. Feels relatively stable once together. At least as stable as the aluminum framed sorting hampers. I love the shelf on top. Like others have said I wish it were taller, not just so it could fit more but also because the shortness of it is a little awkward. A taller person would have to bend over to reach the bags or maybe even items on the shelf. I’m not sure if the bags will fit quite a full load of laundry, which is ok for me since my husband is always saying I overload the machine anyway. If you’re sensitive to smells you may want to pick another item. The finish used on the bamboo pieces has a strong odor.
