I recently had the pleasure of bestowing the Meytccve Toddler's Musical Instruments Baby Montessori Wooden Musical Toys upon a dear friend, who once gifted my son with a musical recorder at the tender age of four. From that day on, I made a silent vow to repay this act of "kindness" one day, and that day finally arrived with this delightful cacophony of noise-making instruments for his little ones. Watching his one- and three-year-old sons gleefully engage with this assortment of percussion, wind, and rattling sounds was an absolute riot! It was like a tiny rock concert in their living room - move over Rolling Stones, here comes the Meytccve Toddler's Band! My friend's expression oscillated between sheer delight and a subtle sense of panic as the kids went wild with these instruments. The joy on his face was unmistakable, but I could see the quiet desperation in his eyes as the musical madness unfolded before him. It was the perfect payback for that musical recorder and a far more entertaining one. In addition, these instruments are of high-quality wood and are thoughtfully packaged. The colors are very neutral, which is a great fit for any nursery or playroom. I was pleasantly tickled by the inclusion of a recorder and even cymbals, which added an extra layer of chaotic fun and musical exploration for the kids.

Let me start off by saying this set is so much fun! I got this set so my 4 year old can start playing around with instruments just like me. She loves them, and it’s fun for adults too! Most play instruments aren’t good quality and these definitely are, they sound good. The size is perfect for my 4 year old. The box they come in can be used for storage as that’s what my daughter showed me. The craftsmanship is really good and the set can be packed up for travel. It’s definitely a really good value for the money and I highly recommend it.

I like this set in general. I appreciate that there is a nice variety of instruments, meaning both that you get all different kinds of musical effects, and also that they all work differently. That is, they are more fun to play with, and little ones gain more benefits from using these because the various instruments require different motions to operate them. It's not the same kind of thing over and over. Each one is unique rather than derivative or samey, and I love that. I also favor the style they chose. I like that the natural color of the wood predominates, and that the accent colors are the same across the many pieces. I like that the set is wooden rather than plastic, and I like that it looks like a set, like the pieces belong together. This is purely a matter of personal taste, but I prefer the understated accent colors to other color-laden sets which can seem garish to me. The size and weight of the pieces is very manageable for little ones, and the quality of the musical sounds is pretty good, I think, especially for young children. Nothing seems tinny or flat. The volume is clearly audible, but not painfully loud, although I will warn you that the little cymbals can be quite loud if a child bangs them together with sufficient force. That may be more fun for them, but perhaps less so for you. Do be aware that the item shaped like a recorder is not one. You can blow into it and achieve a whistle-like effect, but the thumb hole is missing from the back, and the arrangement of holes at the end is inaccurate. A toddler or preschool child wouldn't usually be capable of playing a recorder, however, so I don't consider this a crisis. Nevertheless, a set of instruments rarely includes this option, so I would hate for you to order based on the perception that this particular one comes with a recorder. It does not. I have to say, however, that the spinning drum came apart in my hand, three seconds into my demonstrating how it works. The intended recipient never had a chance to try it out. Looking at the drum, it looks to be much poorer in quality than the other instruments, and the depth of handle attaching it to the body of the drum is less long than the tip of my pinky is wide. Presumably, that's why it fell apart in my hand like that, because it's barely attached. In the end, I would characterize this set as being pretty nice over all, but the spinning drum has terrible build quality and fell apart almost right out of the box, without ever being handled by a child. If it came apart in your little one's hands, it could be dangerous, so keep an eye out for that.

You never know when you see photos or read the write-ups whether these are going to be super cheap or actually look as good as the pictures. In this case, I was VERY pleasantly surprised with the actual product. They seem to be of a high quality and I would have easily mistaken them for a name-brand (think M & D) product had I not known what I ordered. Neutrally colored, solid wood, and appear to be made to hold up and not fall apart the first time a child plays with them. I am very pleased and would definitely recommend giving these a try before splurging on a higher-priced set. Two thumbs up, and I know the kids I'm planning to give them to are going to love them!

I love so many things about this set of instruments! First, the material is a lovely neutral wood. I much prefer natural materials over plastic. Secondly, the sizes of the instruments is perfect for toddlers and little kids. Thirdly, the range of musical instruments is so cool - the hand drum and the recorder are especially awesome! My granddaughter is approaching 2.5 years of age and really enjoys the instruments. They appear to be well made and I'm very happy with them. Truth be told though, I haven't given her the cymbals. I might send those home to her house so her parents get to hear that sound LOL.

I got these for my 3 year old and it’s been less than 24 hours of use and the parts are already breaking off. This doesn’t stand a chance with kids. Although lots of parts of it are made of wood, the parts that aren’t are very flimsy and cheaply put together they seem hot glued. The cymbals are really really sharp. This was a great concept that could be executed better, the flute is in good shape and the maracas are well made. This would be a great introduction to music for kids as long as it’s made safer. The tambourine already has a hole on it with very light use. This is not worth the money overall.
