  • A fun trike with blinking lights but some design and functional issues to be aware of.
Color: Red Size: Tri-light
I got this Toddler Tricycle for my two, almost three year old grandson. I really like how it looks and some of the features which it offers makes it fun for a boy of this age. My issue in providing a full 5 star rating is because of several design elements which affect product life, reliability and usability. With that noted, this trike has been played with daily and my grandsons (3 & 5) have made a lot of indoor use with it. The good: This tricycle is designed to be assembled with push together connectors or finger tightened nuts on a couple of bolts. Assembly was mostly easy, except for when the push-together features didn't function as they were intended. Total assembly by the 'almost three' year old toddler and his ten year old brother was completed in under 10 minutes. And that included waiting for me to take a picture of what they were doing. The baskets, front and rear, are fun to fill with other toys or treasures to carry about. The blinking lights on the main body piece are fun to turn on and cycle through their different flash modes but interest in those doesn't last too long. After all, trikes are for riding. The not so great: We had difficulty getting the handlebar to mount onto the fork/wheel assembly. Examination I found that the stamped push pin to lock these together was a little too long and jammed the housing instead of being pushed in. Attempts to get them together had also bent the outer end of the detent button down, so that further complicated the assembly. I was able to use some long , slender needle nose pliers to extract the "V" shaped spring from the tube and bend the end a bit to correct the angular issue on the pin, then carefully align the handlebar pieces and slightly depress the button with a slender screwdriver from the front side such that the button would slide in on the guide ramp and subsequently latch. After latching it felt fine, except that there is angular looseness or slop of about 5 degrees between the handlebars and the fork which is annoying. The pedals snapped into the front wheel fine but there are two issues with those. The pedals have about 5 degree slop when pedaling, which is annoying. Additionally there is only about 1 3/4 inch crank offset on the pedals. That lack of leverage makes it difficult for young legs to push and turn. Mostly limited to smooth floor operation. I compare that to a trike which I put together a few months ago that had more solid assembly linkages. I felt that it would operate smoothly and dependably for a long time, which it continues to provide. I do not have that same confidence in this unit. The looseness and constant sloppiness in this trike feels like it is chunking away to an early end. The listed price was $59.99 when ordered, and I feel that pricing is high considering the operational issues which I encountered. It does however better represent the value of this tricycle with it's current design limitations than what I see the product being listed for later. ... show more

  • Good trike for Tots
Color: Red Size: Tri-light
I did not find this trike as easy to assemble as some others have. Did finally get it together, minus the fender, which, I tossed in the trash. I am not reducing the rating due to the assembly, it could just be my ineptness. I am sure my great grand kids will love this good looking colorful trike. The small basket in front along with the bit larger behind the seat, will give them plenty of room to transport some toys. There are three things that I question. 1. The bolts for the seat are a little long. When the young ones tip it upside down, the bolts could cause a slight safety hazard. I suggest, you put something on the end of the bolts, to protect the toddlers. 2. I do not see how the pedals shafts engages with the front wheel. I will not let this effect the rating due to this. The connection to the wheel may be stronger than it seems. 3. The ability to storefront wheel to the left or the right is very restricted. Making it impossible to make a small radius turn. I do feel this is a very substantial trike, even with my few questions. Any toddler would love to ride this thing all over the house or in the driveway. ... show more

  • Low quality and uncomfortable
Color: Green Size: Tri-light
Perhaps I received a defective item because I am surprised by any positive reviews of this bike. First of all, the printed instructions were horrible (i.e., small pictures, lack of descriptive details). There is a video installation explanation, but that didn't matter because the parts just wouldn't fit in properly. For example, the handlebar absolutely would not click in properly unless the front basket was removed. Additionally, one of the lug nuts did not have any grooves (see my picture), so there was no way to fasten or tighten in the screw. Then, we found the wire that produced the lights was disconnected. I stripped it down a bit more and was able to connect it, but the poor quality build is quite frustrating. I was going to give it the benefit of the doubt because my 4-year-old was quite excited to ride on this, but then we found that it was too small any uncomfortable! This product is advertised for up to 5 yo kids (mine's just turned 4), and the pedals were too close for him. I would say this maxes out at 3 years old, unless you have a smaller sized child (the fact that this item advertises older-looking kids is so deceptive...those pictures obviously look fake, but it's still outrageously disingenuous). So, all in all, this is a complete bust and a waste for us. ... show more

  • Unimpressed. Terrible assembly instructions
Color: Red Size: Tri-light
Assembling this bike is easier to do WITHOUT the instructions trying to confuse you. The build quality is sloppy and there seems to be no quality inspection on their paint. I understand this is for children but if it was a gift, it would be embarrassing to present this with chips in the paint. The size of this trike is tiny and made for very small kids. My 5 year old nephew does not fit into the saddle very well which is why i say its for small kids. It should be advertised by height and not age. After assembly, the bike feels really cheap. The tires are a hard plastic which might slip on pavement or any slightly wet ground. The bike comes WITHOUT batteries as well. The only thing that the kids like about it, is the lights. They would rather stare and play with the lights than to ride it. Overall, i am unimpressed with this little tricycle. ... show more

  • Unimpressed
Color: Blue Size: Tri-light
The media could not be loaded. Overall I just wasn't impressed with this tricycle. Most parts are made from a flimsy plastic. There's no tread on the wheels and the assembly instructions are little tiny pictures that you can't see what should happen in about half of them. For the amount of money they are asking for this tricycle just isn't worth it. The lights are cool and fun though. ... show more
