Make sure you heat your crucible to 200C-300C and hold for 15 minutes, then naturally cool before using! A laser thermometer is probably a necessity if you're using any non-electric furnace I picked up this crucible for use with my bucket foundry, and it fits great and heats evenly. The opening is a little small, but fits several clipped up soda cans with ease. The crucible being made of graphite makes it light enough to be picked up with kitchen tongs!
