He doesnt even need to ride it around. Just sitting in it makes him happy. He has not learn to drive it yet but with the remote control its a big help. My only suggestion would be to add some cushion on the joysticks as it can be harsh on you if you are using the forward one a lot if your little one does not press the gas on his own. ... show more

Battery and wires under seat started to burn. Horrible burning smell. Unit does not work now. Used the fire truck a couple of times. Bought as Christmas present. Amazon has not credited my account nor replaced. Don't buy!!! Not worth one star..

Perfect for my 3 year old! He can even drive it up our super steep driveway with no issue. Better than any other battery powered car we have ever purchased. He has used this atleast a dozen times and it still hasn't had to be charged. The music is cute and the siren is fun.

    • Not as impressed as I thought/wanted to be
This is the second driving vehicle I've bought for my almost 4 year old nephew. As he is infatuated with big trucks/heavy machinery, decided to go with this firetruck since he loved dressing up as a fireman. Pros - easy to put together as there is just the wheels, rear view mirrors, siren, seat, and steering wheel that all basically pop into place. You do have to connect 3 power cords for the siren but that is super simple. I like that he can have built in music playing and the fact it says "engine has started, make sure you bucklet your seatbelt" as that is good reinforcement for him and he does check every time. Cons - battery life, speed, and overall appearance. The prior vehicle I bought him was a front loader with two different speeds. That has a bucket on the front and I honestly think if it fell down while in the 2nd speed, it could flip the vehicle. That is why I decided to buy him a new one. This vehicle seems to crawl along at a snails pace even when he is in the "high speed". Also, the battery seems to drain in less than 20 minutes of use. That is EXTREMELY disappointing as it also takes a substantial time to charge. The 3rd issue I have is it looks like a generic boxed piece of plastic that you could throw any type of vehicle stickers on and call it that vehicle. Was hoping it would be more a firetruck and less a rectangular piece of plastic. Thankfully the kid has a great imagination. One other issue we have had is the driver side door is much more difficult to open than the passenger side. He is easily able to push the latch for the passenger side but someone has to open the driver side if he uses that one. I do like the accessories that come with it (the water backpack with sprayer and fire extinguisher) but haven't filled them with water yet as winter and don't care to have water sprayed all over the house. haha Overall, I would have hoped for a bit better aesthetics, battery life, and speed. I would not personally buy this again if given the option and would try another one to see if there was something better in the aforementioned cons. ... show more

Says it has independent suspension, with springs, there is no suspension at all. As soon as you drive off of sidewalk/cement onto grass, truck basically stops. Remote has already disconnected from the truck twice within a week. Really considering returing
