Top Amazon Reviews

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The dinosaur toy has drawn many positive reviews from customers, with most praising it for its large size, high durability, and enjoyable features like the ability to "eat" smaller toys. However, some concerns are raised about its limited motion with joints that only rotate and not flex, which might make it more suitable for display than rough play. It's an exciting toy for children and their parents, which provides interactive play and imaginative scenarios.

Pros

  • 🦕 Large and impressive size which kids love
  • 🛠 Durable and can withstand heavy use
  • 🤗 Interactive eating feature for added fun
  • 🎨 Good quality paintwork and detail
  • 🔄 Joints that rotate, allowing for different poses

Cons

  • ⛔ Limited mobility due to lack of joint flexibilty
  • ⚠️ Might be too large and can be a tripping hazard
  • 🔨 Assembly required which can be time-consuming
  • 💵 Some users feel it's only worth buying on sale
  • 🐾 Can be front-heavy when holding other toys in its mouth

Should I Buy It?

Yes, if you're looking for a large, durable, and engaging toy for a dinosaur-loving child, this product is a great pick. It provides hours of imaginative play, though it's advised to be cautious with its size in areas of your home where people frequently walk. Consider purchasing during a sale period for the best value.

  • For dino lovers
This was a gift for my nephew, and he loved it. He had been asking for it for a while. He could not stop playing with it. It is now displayed with all of his other dinosaurs.

  • Big dino, built like a model more than a toy.
I picked this up on sale, so to me it was worth the price. I don't think it is worth regular price, and here is why; The dinosaur has limited action: 1) The upper and lower jaw are hinged - possibly the best feature of the action parts 2) The neck, wrists and ankles rotate (twist) in a circle, but do not bend or flex. The details of the wrists and ankles make the toy look weird when you rotate the parts away from 'standard' position. As example, the Achilles tendon sticks out when you turn the foot, revealing a flat, cut-off looking feature where the parts rotated away from each other. 3) the shoulders and hips rotate in a circle, but they do not bend or flex. The legs have limited rotation but they can achieve all of the 'natural' looking positions. 4) The tail does not bend or rotate. The Indominus is made from hard plastic. You can see the seams where it was assembled as there are tiny gaps in the body. You have to put the legs and tail together. I would call this more of an action-model than a kids-toy. Probably best for more mature kids who aren't going to thrash this around, as it will probably break with a few impacts / collisions. The spines and teeth are rubber, so there is nothing that will really stab or hurt. It can stand on its own, but is a little front-heavy (the weight is heavily on the toe tips, despite being flat-footed). If you put anything in its mouth, it could fall forward unless you adjust some angles. Another option is to put some 'food' (weight) in the belly to move the center of gravity away from the head and more towards the hips. The paint looks pretty good. As example, the eyes do not have any smudges at the edges, and the eye socket is shaded and looks to be partly blended (possibly air-brushed?) One of the best features is that this dinosaur has a big gullet! You can fit other toys inside, including action figures, fashion dolls, tiny dinosaurs, etc. Some of these toys will not go all the way through to the belly, so be careful not to get anything stuck in the throat. Overall, I am very pleased with the purchase because of the incredible size of this model. Yes, 3 feet long! The eating action is really cool, and I appreciate that there is no 'push button' noise or action on this. So, if you find it on sale, grab it! Even if just for display, people will notice this. It looks so cool! ... show more

  • Great for a dinosaur fan
Our son wanted a dinosaur that eat little dinosaurs for Christmas and this worked out great! It has a compartment in the stomach to "release" the baby dinosaurs, which our son loved. It's sturdy and has been through 8 months of dinosaur battles and has no damage. I will say it's incredibly painful to trip over though so avoid that! But other than that, great toy. Our son loves it and it's held up with months of battles with no issues ... show more

  • Worth the Money
This thing is so cool, my husband and I found ourselves playing with it once our 5-year-old walked away. Pros - It's really very large. - Super durable. We have several of the Jurassic World toys and this one is by far the best quality. - The limbs move in all sorts of ways you don't initially anticipate and it makes for fun posing and game play. - The jaw opens on both the top and bottom making for a truly terrifying gaping mouth. - The throat is so wide, my 5 year old can stick her entire arm down this thing's mouth and reach into its stomach. Lots of opportunity to pretend she's getting eaten by a dinosaur. - The feet are the same size as my kids' feet which she finds hilarious. Cons - I've already tripped over it twice. I0 out of 10. Would drop $70 on this again. ... show more

  • Christmas gift for my 11yr old son
My son asked for this for Christmas. He loves all of the Jurassic park movies. He’s a little dinosaur know it all. He loved it! And been playing with it for days now. He’s making him eat everything lol. I personally think is a bit to expensive for what it is, yes it is huge but still is just plastic. Anyways I do recommend it if you have a dinosaur crazy child.
