I saved up to buy this for my son as the price fluctuates. I stayed up literally all night building this for his birthday. That was an exhausting week but this is excellent. No missing parts, a wonderful gift. Large, but not unnecessarily. It looks awesome. The instructions weren’t the easiest to follow but clear enough. I only hand to undo things once or twice. I wish I had bought this when I first saw it. In his room, he had moved it right by his bed and though he doesn’t play with it everyday he plays with it often. I snuck it into his room with some bows and when I woke him he blinked and hugged me then he saw it. He lost his mind. Due to the amount of time it took to put together I just opened this from June (it was a birthday present) and one of the prices were damaged. I used wood glue to try to fix it but I expected more for the price paid. Other than that went together good. Took approximately 6 hours stopping and starting to put together. Contacted customer service and explained the situation and they sending out a replacement part. Highly recommend ... show more

    • Great but assembly was a nightmare
My son loves it, but it was SOOOOOO MANY PIECES TO PUT TOGETHER!!!! 😮💨 the screws even have specific spots based off of the painting and the directions weren’t much help. Took two days for us to finish it.

This is the perfect gift for any child obsessed with pirates. 5 year old for size reference. I also recommend using glue on some pieces to hold them in place.

It's really cute, and my Grandson will be ecstatic on Christmas morning! Very well made. It takes a couple of hours to put it together. There are hundreds of screws. Don't wait until Christmas Eve to open the box to put it together. It's stressful that EVERY SINGLE PART of the castle and the ship needs to be put together. But I will say, even that was worth it because it's really cute. So glad we opened it on Thanksgiving weekend. VERY DISAPPOINTED ABOUT THIS, THOUGH... The small round numbered stickers for each part do not peel off cleanly.. I tried to scratch them off with my fingernail, but even that didn't work. There were itsy bitsy pieces of glue and paper residue that obviously had been scraped. If you've ever tried to get a price tag off the the bottom of a new coffee mug, you can get the idea. Some price tags come off easily. and others don't. But there are ways to remove stickers off of ceramic or glass. The difference is, these toys are wooden and have images of the rooms on them. I contacted the company and was told to use Glue Gone, but if it doesn't work, and ruins the wood or picture images, they won't refund, which means we're stuck with an heirloom toy that will forever have hundreds of eraser head sized numbered stickers over the picures.. in other words, Tough luck. This is very disappointing to me, because it was not cheap. I would've paid double the price, though, because it's so cute and is of the highest quality. But should the "highest quality" be cheaping out on quality removable stickers????? ... show more

This was awesome....my kid has had it now for 3 plus months and it has held up well *note* if ur child is the kind that Tries to tear up all their toys obviously nothing will last them long. But my child is kinda rough with his toys during play and its been super sturdy (it wouldn't hold up to being thrown, so to all those parents either make it urself out of something sturdier or don't be expecting fort knox). It literally comes with cannons that make a pretty realistic sound and pirate figures that look great. It was so fun that even I was getting down and playing with it and having a blast with my 4 yo. I bought it for around $130 so for that price point its been great.....some pieces are held together by little wooden dowel rods and started to come out after being played with for a while, but I used some wood glue and it fixed it permanently. To those who said they had damaged or missing pieces their is info in the assembly manual to get the pieces ur owed or to order additional pieces. Its super easy to assemble...the only thing that confused me are the tops of the screws...almost all the screws are the exact same screw, they just have a different color painted on the top....its up to you to match the color to where it goes lol....Im planning on ordering extra cannons so we can have 1 for every port hole on the sides of the ship, I cant wait to get them and have a full on pirate war!! ... show more

I read reviews when I bought this that it took two hrs to put together and directions were horrible! But i took a chance bc felt like my pirate loving 3 yr old would really love this for Christmas. Anyway as a single parent luckily I suckered a best friend of mine into helping me build this thing, and thankfully I did bc I would have never completed it on my own! And I am generally not a quitter. A ton of pieces and the directions were not great. It took us 5 hrs with a few breaks. This thing is no joke. On the flip side all the little pieces add a lot of very cute details in the end product so it really looks great. Now I’m hiding it until Christmas lol ... show more
