I wanted a dedicated 6 point 1/2in lugnut socket since my others were getting beat up and unable to be used on regular 19mm bolts. Used this to change the tires on my Rivian R1S this weekend. Works great and no marring of the wheel paint occurred. Fit as expected, though could be slightly tighter. Wondering if the plastic insert should be removed for maximum tightness? Fully compatible with my wheel lugnuts. Very easy to use.

I've been using these Titan 1/2 Drive sockets in my vehicles for lug nuts for years. This is the third vehicle that I needed one for. I haven't experienced any issues when used with a 18 inch breaker bar. However, the most recent socket's arrival had an original fit that is good on the lug nuts but wait there is more... The only disappointment was clear when the plastic non-marring sleeve showed a loose original fit on the socket itself. These are great and perfect for undoing or torquing bolts/nuts that are 17mm. The length is helpful with wheel bolts since those are often recessed a little bit, which makes it more difficult to remove them if you need to use a breaker-bar. The white sleeve is also great for protecting the finish of your wheels; especially if you have alloys. You can remove the sleeve if you don't want it there or if you need an even thinner walled socket, though it's pretty thin walled even with the sleeve. I've gotten this style socket in a number of sizes from Titan, and they've all been really great! I don't use them professionally, so I can't say how they'd hold up in a busy shop, but I'm confident they'd hold up very well. I actually have been really happy with tools from Titan, so I think you'll be more than pleased with this socket and you'll probably go for more of their tools after you get to try this one out a bit. ... show more
