Needed an standard impact set for my job (fleet mechanic at a vacation resort in Florida). This set was more than perfect for what i needed. I'm used to working with metric sockets but needed this set for other vehicles tht called for standard. Only thing i noticed was some of the sockets had oil or grease on em but wasnt tht a big of deal. Easy enough to wipe those ones of. I was impressed the assortment of sockets, extentions and even the wobble socket tht comes with it. The wobble socket is well made. Not your cheap ones with the pins tht easily break after one or a few uses after using with impact tools. I have bought Sunex before and was happy with the quality and durability of there products. They are just as good if not better than a tool truck tools but less expensive and you wont be in debt to the tool truck guy for a long time buying these instead.

Great Socket set with a good assortment of SAE and Metric Sockets. Comes with a good case overall. The Case doesn't secure the sockets very well during shipping. After a quick 5 minutes of putting sockets in their correct spots and checking to make sure I received all the right sizes. Everything was there and covered in a nice layer of oil so they don't rust. The Tabs on the side of the case that snap closed seem thin and will probably get weak and break after some time of use. Over all the case is pretty solid for taking the tools on the go.

Just received my set. I did a trial run on removing lug nuts, very tight fit. I like the weight of each socket compared to the other brands I looked at. The case could have used a foam to held the sockets tightly in the case. The case is on the thin side. Happy I received the Taiwan version. Overall, I am very happy with the set.

As already mentioned by another reviewer, when I opened up the top of this, the oil used on the sockets emitted a really nasty smell. It made me sneeze, it was so bad. Well, this weekend, I took it outside, and cleaned the 'factory' oil off with carburetor cleaner, and then re-applied a coat of motor-oil. (If you do this, make sure you have the proper personal protective equipment [gloves etc.] to yourself safe from the chemicals.) The sockets looked kind of 'dry' and 'frosty' after they dried off from the solvent. But after the coat of motor oil, the 'sheen' came right back. I was happy to see that the lettering on the sockets remained unaffected by the solvent. I also wiped the case out with some paper towels, and noticed that some of the 'red' from the plastic case came off with the oil. Also, there was a red stain in the bottom of my cleaning pan, which indicates that the original 'factory' oil had reacted adversely with the case, which left me questioning if the smell was from the oil or the case, or the combination. Other than that issue, the case is built tough. It has two black latches on the front of the case, but also it has two additional latches on the side of the case. If you aren't aware of the side latches, a little bit of extra exuberance using the black tabs to remove the top without unlatching the sides will leave you with one or two black tabs in you hands, if you try to use them to pull the case top open. (they snap back on). The sockets and fittings are built tough. I was especially impressed with the Universal Joint, or Knuckle. (you can purchase the universal joint separate if you like). You will know when you pick the case of sockets that there is some real metal in there. I really liked that there is a 'complete set' here including a really good selection of extensions and a universal joint. The case came packed in a box about twice as thick as the case, with some really good packing, so it arrived in fine condition. Considering the 'nasty smelling oil' and red stuff coming off from the case issue, which I would take half a star off for that. But you can't do a 'half star', a "5" is how I feel about the whole package.

Sunex, matco adv, and Grey Pneumatic impact sockets are basically the exact same!! Look at the photos of them compared side by side. They are literally identical to each other!! The difference? Sunex actually follows through with their warranty and getting Grey Pneumatic to warranty anything these days is next to impossible. The biggest problem with sunex sockets is the lack of milling on the shoulders of the deep sockets 8mm-11mm on the 3/8 impact set. The 9mm and 11mm will likely never get used, but those deep 8mm and 10mm sizes were important, and the clearance was garbage. Solution? I purchased a Grey Pneumatic 8mm and 10mm impact socket for my set. They are the exact same as sunex sockets and vice versa just with a few small differences. The Grey Pneumatic is marked with a size 3 times vs 2 times on the sunex, and obviously the milling on the shoulders of their 8mm and 10mm are deeper allowing for more clearance. Aside from those 2 things these are the same sockets. Just look at the photos, they are the same down to the letters and numbers on both sockets.
