I bought this ladder to use around my rv so I would not need to place a ladder on the rv to work on it. pretty heavy ladder and you have to extended the ladder all the way to use it. i bought this to access my attic space where my ac unit is in. i wanted to be able to keep this ladder inside nearby behind a door and this is perfect for that. it is super sturdy and solid actually feels like really nice craftsmanship for the price. it has gas struts to slow down the rungs from slamming down which is probably why it weighs so much. the weight isnt an issue where carrying collapsed but when you extend it you start at the bottom which means you have to lift up the top heavy rungs which i dont think my mom or many women would be able to do at all by herself. even with the ladder extended it is heavy and moving it from vertical to horizontal is unnerving because of the weight. i'm going to keep it since it is the best option by far then a traditional ladder for 89 bucks its a steal compared to ladders at the store. ... show more

I haven't had a whole lot of experience with it. But first thing I couldn't figure out straight out of the box is locking the A frame configuration at different heights. The short answer. You can't. Even in A frame mode it has to be fully extended to lock into place. I guess they removed the optional height adjustment in favor of the easy take down feature it has. Which is kinda nice. Otherwise, it seems like a decent ladder, even if it is a bit flimsy. Although with it being telescopic, that's just part of the equation ... show more

I bought this own at 8.5 cause it would be the perfect size for attic access. For that purpose and for me. It's perfect. Very sturdy, and gets nice and compact when you put it away. Also the one button collapse works great. For this wondering when it collapses it does so in a soft manner. It's like it has air suspension. Each level collapses onto the other ever so gently. Ladder kept me feeling safe even at the full height. Note that it is telescoping but not variable for height settings. It's either fully telescoped out or fully retracted.
