  • Huge and built well Huge and built well
Color: Blue Size: Extra Large
This review is for the Tioga 90L blue duffel bag listed at $69.29 at the time I placed my order. It’s huge. I can’t think of anything I’d want to pack on a road trip that won’t fit in this bag. It’s sturdy and you’d have to take a knife to it to create a tear in this bag. The top of it appears to be completely waterproof – it’s smooth vinyl and easy to wipe off, and according to the listing the zippers are water resistant. Speaking of zippers, the one for the main compartment is one of the largest, sturdiest zippers I’ve ever used, and appears to be industrial grade. The rest of them are also very well made and move smoothly. The bottom of the bag is made from sturdy nylon fabric. The bag has a massive center compartment, and on one side is a pocket large enough to store shoes. The front of the bag has a small compartment, although it’s twice the size of the ones on my other duffels. Under the flap to the main pocket is a mesh storage area with 2 zippered pouches. There are 3 carry options – backpack, over the shoulder, or hand carry. Since I’ll never use the backpack feature I like the fact that the straps can be completely removed. For over the should mode, just take one of the backpack straps and attach it diagonally. Permanently attached are tie-downs in multiple areas which makes it possible to strap this bag into the back of a pickup truck, on the roof of a vehicle, or any place you don’t want it sliding about. The tie downs also make it easy to grab hold of the bag when moving it around my back seat or trunk. Two small pouches contain compression straps. I couldn’t figure out any way to access them other than to cut the front of the pouches, you can see in the video there are no zippers or snaps. The 90L is pretty heavy – 4 pounds, 7 ounces, and it’s a bit difficult for me, a 5’3 woman, to move around when fully filled. This isn’t a fault of the product, but I’m noting it in case other consumers would find one of the smaller models a better option. A lot of my trips involve my ferrets, and the bag just gets added to the dolly that I use for their traveling cages. It takes up a lot of room in the back seat of my truck, but it’s stiff enough so that if I turn it sideways the bag gets wedged between the back seat and back of the front seat and doesn’t budge. It’s perfect for road trips with my dog and will accompany us for many years to come. ... show more

  • huge, durable, and heavy-duty duffel bag
Color: Orange Size: Extra Large
HUGE!!! This thing is unbelievably large and can carry so much stuff. Suuuuper heavy duty, rubber-like texture. Waterproof, or at least highly water resistant. Feels like something might pierce through this if you're hauling something sharp but other than that, this should last years., Backpack straps aren't as comfortable as a regular backpack but really helps to carry this though a long distance. Straps are detachable. The zippers seem to be waterproof (or at least rainproof) as well, I think, because I carried a full bag through pouring rain and everything inside was bone dry. The hardware on this seems super durable too, a lot of solid metal. The current listed price of about 50-60 dollars USD at the time of this review seems like a good value for what you get. I cannot state enough how BIG this bag is! ... show more

  • Great bag for extended trips
Color: Blue Size: Large
I love this bag. I have the 70 liter size. It feels huge. It’s well-built, durable, and most importantly, it’s very well thought out. There are padded shoulder straps that are easily detachable so the bag can be worn as a backpack if desired. The attachment points for the backpack straps are squared off and the straps are designed so that they stay put and don’t slip around - and that slippage is very common with squared straps on lesser bags, and it's very annoying. There are a pair of heavy-duty cinch straps at either end of the bag, which can be neatly tucked into purpose-built internal pockets on the bag when not in use. There are easy-access side compartments and a dedicated shoe compartment at the bottom of the bag. The bag itself is a heavy vinyl with durable nylon on the bottom. It has a normal cross-bag shoulder strap, a pair of carrying handles that velcro together across the bag opening, and small grab handles at either end of the bag to allow for ease of loading / unloading. If you're going places where your standard rolling suitcases might not roll very well... a bag like this could be your best friend. It's not designed for extended carry as a backpack, but throw the straps on and you can get past a couple blocks of cobblestone streets without cursing every step. ... show more

  • Pretty decent duffel with 2 flaws Pretty decent duffel with 2 flaws
Color: Grey Size: Medium
I grabbed this bag to keep emergency winter clothes in my car during harsh winters. I’ve had it for a few months and while it sits in my car, here are some pros and cons for those looking to be more active with it: Pros: * lightweight and very durable waterproof material (most of the bag) * Water sealed zippers and great zipper pulls on the main compartments * Decent interior organization / compartments Cons: * Bottom of the bag is a less durable material than the rest of the bag. * Removable backpack straps are thin and not comfortable. * Major flaw: The compression straps that run laterally across the bag roll up and store inside two pouches. The problem with this is that there are two openings that are always exposed and allow water into the bag if it’s raining. ... show more

  • GREAT GEAR PACK
Color: Yellow Size: Large
This is an awesome camping, sport, trekking bag. It is very solidly constructed, with high quality materials, fabric, zippers, straps, and fasteners. I am super impressed. It's been seriously foggy here in central CA for five weeks now and everything is damp or wet. This bag is perfect, I can set it down on damp ground, I can let it sit outside the cabin where it gets covered in dew and mist. No problem, everything inside is dry and when the pack comes inside, the straps and case dry quickly. This is the large size which easily holds my winter hiking kit for a long weekend of daily treks and longer evenings by the fire, with ease -- four days of hiking clothes, lounge clothes, sleep wear, and cold weather outer wear, everything except my boots, backpack, and poles. I'm planning to buy another for my actual gear, snowshoes, boots, poles, etc, etc. Have not yet had to use the compression straps, but those are a great addition and the design is pretty intriguing. They will be great to have in case we have to load it on the roof of the car or pack tighter for longer trips. With all that, it's pretty low weight. Mind you, I'm not hauling it through the wilderness, just from the vehicle to the cabin or tent, so far. It does have shoulder straps that look really well made, like the other straps, so I imagine it would be pretty reasonable to carry some distance, like if you park and pack in a mile or so, but I wouldn't want it to be my primary pack for long treks. Everything is well-thought-out and planned, clearly designed by people who actually use this equipment and go where it's needed. ... show more

  • A RUGGED, WELL MADE, AND LARGE TO GO BAG/BACKPACK!!! A RUGGED, WELL MADE, AND LARGE TO GO BAG/BACKPACK!!!
Color: Orange Size: Extra Large
This bag was exactly what I was looking for in a rugged, nicely styled bag that could be carried or put on as a backpack. I wanted it to store our families emergency go bag which would contain clothing, non-perishable food, overnight items and emergency supplies. That requires a larger bag and this one was exactly the size I was hoping for (the largest Tioga size). It is a well made bag and very durable. It's easy to clean and can be carried with end to end straps, the two traditional tote style bag straps and backpack straps, so all the bases are covered. You can remove the backpack straps if you don't want them and they have easy carabiner style clips for easy removal. The end on one size of the bag has a separate zip compartment to help keep the bag organized. While the bag is large, it isn't heavy which is what you want in an emergency bag. The bottom of the bag is made of a padded polyester canvas style material. The zippers are rugged and have pull strings which include a rubberized tubing to make it more comfortable for your fingers. A lot of thought went into the construction of this bag. I could see it used as a primary camping bag, search and rescue, fireman or police officer bag, family emergency bag or an easy to see storage bag. I love the Orange color and it makes it easy to spot the bag anywhere. Really great all around bag!!! ... show more

  • Very sturdy, husband loved it! Very sturdy, husband loved it!
Color: Blue Size: Extra Large
One of my kids is an avid scout with a high adventure troop. I am not a high adventure kind of person so my husband goes on an the outings. He's a big guy and struggled to fit all the stuff he needs in a standard size bag. The favorite outing every year is a several day raft trip. They've never had a raft tip, but there are a lot of splashes. He was delighted when I showed this to him and immediately started talking about the raft trip! The seams are all reinforced on the inside, the zippers are really heavy duty, the straps are sewn super securely. Everything about it screams "take me on a several day raft trip"! We tested it in the shower and everything inside stayed dry. He also likes the color because it's easy to see without being embarrassing. One of my kids uses a bright orange waterproof bag for commuting by train and scooter, which he prefers for visibility. But my husband is a more sensitive soul and easily embarrassed. So the color options were great to give him a choice that he felt confident about carrying. ... show more

  • Heavy duty bag Heavy duty bag
Color: Yellow Size: Large
This is a nice sized bag with some really good features. First, the positives; I love the strap clips and how versatile all the attachment points are. They’re sewn into the bag really well, and the overall size is perfect for what I need. The zippers are quality ones too, with good weight to them, not the cheap flimsy zippers you often find on bags you plan to haul a lot of gear in. The part that confuses me is that about 3 quarters of the bag is waterproof, but the bottom section is only water resistant, not fully waterproof. You could definitely carry a lot of gear in this and it would be great for outdoor activities and multi-purpose use. I just don’t understand the choice to use regular nylon fabric for the bottom panel. It seems like an odd design decision when the rest of the bag is so well thought out. if you’re going to have a Nilon fabric bottom, I would’ve preferred there be a continuation of the vinyl as in the rest of the bag inside on the floor. ... show more
