  • This is the best backpack I've ever had
Color: Fog
This is the best backpack I've ever had! My Dell Inspiron 17 i7746-6875SLV - 17.3" fits perfectly on pocket, and there is a lot of space for cables, pens, folders, etc. The fabric and its waterproof texture is amazing, also zippers quality are strong. Very very happy with this.

  • Great business bag.
Color: Jet Black
I has a Timbuk2 Messenger for about 8 years and it shows no signs of wear after traveling 30% of the time domestically and internationally over various weather conditions. I recently had a back injury so I decided to get a business backpack. I debated over another Timbuk2 or other brands. I ended up with Timbuk2 based on my great experience with the brand. I chose the Authority and tried it for a while. I was hesitant because I thought it was too small for my large and long torso. However, the judge (my wife) said it looked good on me. It had a professional look which worked well when I wear a suit. I was also hesitant since it didn’t have the TSA type compartment for laptops. I figure that was a useless feature since I’m TSA Pre and don’t travel much anymore. The pack had great materials, great assembly, and great little details. Organization is great to carry various office and personal items. I really like the 3 larger compartments and the 2 small personal compartments. ... show more

  • Smallest 28L
Color: Fog
Good design. Nice look. But too small for me and not really functional. This backpack keeps it's shape and form. Some bags are soft and collapse until it's full. This bag is designed like an accordion. The front face and rear (strap side) are stiff and keeps their shape. The main compartment will expand and collapse like accordion. This is good and bad. - The good is the style and look. The bag looks very clean and neat. - The bad is that bag is quite small. I cannot believe this bag is 28L. Once I place MBP 15" in laptop compartment and iPad in the sleeve in main compartment, then the main compartment is only 3-4" wide, though full height. It's hard to store anything bulky. And it very hard to get to items at bottom of main compartment. Another negative is that it doesn't have pockets. It has 2 external pockets and not enough zippered internal pockets. - Top external pocket is small and basically useless. - The bottom external pocket is large, but I would not keep any valuables there for traveling. - There are some internal pockets, but only 1 small zippered internal pocket. When traveling, I want to keep my valuables (passport, cellphone, wallet) in internal zippered pocket. ... show more

  • Nice Looking Backpack. Not Very Functional.
Color: Fog
This is a one year review of this backpack. 1. Main compartment is only separated from the hard surface of wherever you're placing your backpack with a very thin material, offers no protection for anything that's inside the main compartment. 2. Laptop compartment's sewing and seams will leave marks on some surfaces of laptop. Microsoft Surface Laptop 2 was visibly scuffed under certain lighting conditions after transporting it couple weeks in the laptop compartment. 3. Organizer compartment is useless. The pockets are so thin if you put anything in there that is thicker than an average Casio calculator it will bulge into the main compartment which further restricts the storage capacity of main compartment. 4. The top "Phone compartment" zipper is hard to use. Hard to open, hard to close. 5. Shoulder straps. These straps never stay in place. I have to constantly adjust the length of the shoulder straps every couple days because they will loosen just by carrying this backpack around. Overall, I'd look for something else. ... show more

  • Straps way too short
Color: Jet Black
I'm 5'9" and 170lbs. I wear a 40R jacket. The padded part of the straps are far too short. The plastic buckles at the end of the padded part of the straps sits right in between my bicep and my chest. I walked around my living room and had red scratch marks on both biceps, so this bag is getting returned. Apart from the issue with the straps, it seems like a solid bag. ... show more

  • Falls Short on Stated Volume
Color: Twilight
I spent a fair amount of time (and money) trying to find the best bag for me. I was fixed on Timbuk2, as I have colleagues who have them and love them!!! I was replacing a wheelie bag, it had served me well for years! I needed something for my mobile office; laptop and a boatload of accessories. When it arrived, I thought its a little snug, how can that be for a backpack that is specified as 28 liters. As I was transferring my stuff out of my old bag into the new one, anticipating it would expand and reveal its real metal, I was not able to get all my stuff into the new backpack. Being an engineer, I went back to the website and took their dimensions and calculated the volume at full dimension and it measured 19.9 liters!!!! Not even close to the 28 Liter rated capacity. I have written off to Timbuk2, and to date have not received any response. I even went and compared other products on their website and what they are stating as volume and the bag dimensions, they are off. I went on other backpack manufacturers and did the same math, and much much closer. Its probably not an exact science but at least be in the same ball park. Construction wise, the bag is well built. But I need it all, great construction and the stated volume for my stuff!!!! Don't think I am asking for too much considering I paid well for it. I will update when I get a response from Timbuk2. So please keep that in mind when shopping them! ... show more
