Very Nice Boots as Expected.
Size: 11
Color: Black Full Grain
I just tossed a pair of Timberland hiking boots very much like these (except they were brown with slightly different construction). I had them about 25 years but haven't worn them for the last 20 or so. In the early 2000's I put about 500-600 miles a year on them, for three years, walking round trips
to/from work in the city. They were excellent for the cold and snowy winters in VT. When we moved south 17 years ago I no longer commuted to work on foot so retired them. Now, being in the market for a moderately strong and comfortable hiking boot for walks over the countryside with my dog, the old Timberlands came to mind. As expected, with all the highway miles on them over the previous years, they were relatively worn out; so I tossed them and bought these. After wearing them all day today (1st day), after walking hill and dale, over grass covered fields, (about 2 miles) with the dog and going shopping for several hours, in and out of the car and walking about the concrete jungle, I can say my feet are still comfortable, the boots are well made and more comfortable that I remember them. Two thumbs up!

Durable, but after 3 years front rubber starts to separate
Size: 10.5
Color: Dark Brown
I've hiked in these 3-5 times a week since 2020 and they are durable. Now, after owning 4 pair over the years, I can confidently say the front rubber sole starts separating after 3 years. You can expect them to last 6 months after this happens. I wear insoles in them to give them a more cushy feel. A
nd there are other more expensive boots that protect from rocks better. I have bought many other brands, Keens, Merrells, Hokas, and Obozs. Hokas are like walking on air, but last for a year. The others match up with Timberlands, at a higher price.

I needed a pair of hiking boots to replace the Keene boots that were only 1 1/2 yrs old but not only lost their waterproofing in the first six months but had a weed stalk in the field go right through the side and almost break my skin. This was the second pair of Keene’s that had gone bad in just ove
r a year and, at $130 I was getting tired of replacing them. Started looking at reviews and found these. They have a large toe box with plenty of room. Before I took them out I took another reviewers advice and put a coating of Mink Oil on them. They were comfortable but I knew they’d take a little break in. I now have about three or four miles of walking through the fields and surprisingly they seem to be breaking in rather quickly. I usually put on about 500-700 miles a year. One note, if you’re looking for hiking boots that will give you really good ankle support these ARE NOT for you, look elsewhere. These are for easy hiking, fields and roadway. When I got them I first put in a pair of Dr. Scholls and that went a long way toward making them immediately comfortable. If I remember I’ll give an update in three or four months. UPDATE: Jan. 6, 2018 - I’ve now had a chance to wear these for a while including the recent snow storm and frigid temps (at least for us). We got 5” of snow, temps this morning, when I took the dog out, we’re 4 or 5 degrees with a windchill of -8. I had been wearing wool socks with these and my feet have stayed warm and dry on a 25 to 35 min. walk through the fields. This time, with the snow and frigid windchill I decided to try just summer cotton socks. Bear in mind I’m a 70 year old with diabetes, which does affect circulation, so I’m pretty sensitive to cold and heat and the comfort of my foot wear. (I walk approximately 3 miles a day with my dog, even in the snow and cold unless it’s too much for her.) So, the results of a 20 minute walk were still warm and dry feet. I could have gone much further but Harley was getting snow turning to ice between her toes every few minutes and we’d have to stop and I’d have to remove it. Bottom line: When I received these boots I put in my Dr. Scholls insoles from my previous pair, rubbed in three coats of mink oil on dry days (which I think was key to waterproofing) and started walking. I’ve found them to be far more comfortable than the Keen’s I was previously wearing. I don’t walk as much as a lot of people, about 25 miles a week, but they’re doing well for me for field and neighborhood walking. 2/9/18: I like to keep folks updated on important stuff: If you want a pair of boots to wear, every day, and forget when you take them off, look elsewhere. Because these are leather they require a LOT of care. If they get soaking wet do NOT continue to wear them the next day, you’ll ruin them. I’ve found that when mine get soaked from walking in the pouring rain, in the field with my dog, I wipe them clean with an old towel, put shoe trees in them to keep the leather from shrinking and set them aside where there’s a flow of air to let them air dry. Do not try and force dry them with hot air, you’ll ruin the leather. Putting them a few feet away from a fan seems to work okay or just let them sit. While they’re drying I use an old pair that I kept. After they have dried completely I retreat every inch of leather, paying particular attention to seams and around grommets, with mink oil, let it sit and dry then retreat again. Is the above a pain? Yes it is but these appear to be quality boots and you need to take care of them, not let them get muddy and wet and toss them in the corner for the next day. Update: 11/12/18 I’ve now had these boots a year and for the money they were a good buy but I’ll repeat a couple of points I made previously. 1. They are not, in any way, shape or form waterproof. 2. If you get them soaked do NOT simply take them off and leave them in a dark hallway. If you do they’ll be ruined. Put them on a towel in front of a fan blowing room temperature air on them. Do not, under any circumstances, place them on a heated surface or someplace where hot air blows on them, you’ll ruin the leather. 3. Once completely dry polish your boots. This is how I do it: I put a match to the polish (in the can) and let it flame and liquify, then take a rag and dip it into the liquid polish and rub it into the leather. Then I take a clean cloth and further rub the polish in and finally use a brush to buff the polish to a shine. Yes, it takes time and effort but if you wear leather hiking boots and walk through wet fields you should take the time to take care of the leather. In wet weather I don’t wear these two days in a row. If you’re looking for that type of boot you’re also looking at three times the price.

As Good as my last pair of Timberlands ?
Size: 7 Wide
Color: Medium Brown Full Grain
Needed to replace my 20+ year old pair of Timberland hiking boots. The tread is pratically worn down to nothing. They were the best pair of boots I've ever owned. This pair looks very similar to my old pair. I normally wear a 7.5 men's boot. But for some reason that size was more expensive, so I orde
red an 8-wide. Received, but too large. Returned and got a size 7-wide, as that is the same size of my old pair. Fit great, could have used a bit more arch support, but doable. Went camping right after receiving, but the boots seem to break in just fine. If this pair lasts half as long as my old pair, I'll be really happy. Would reccommend this style of Timberland hiking boots.

Comfortable from the start - real world update
Size: 10.5
Color: Medium Brown Full Grain
Update to my original review: Gave them a good work out on a recent trip to Iceland. I walked on rocky, mountainous terrain as well as glacial ice, snow, and wet. I also wore them for casual sight-seeing. Perfect all-around boot with excellent comfort, water-proofing, and traction (did wear crampons
on the ice). Might suggest using two sock pairs or thick socks for added comfort on rougher terrain. Great boot and they still look good. Original Review: Been wearing them only a couple of days now so I can't speak to durability, but they are head and shoulders above anything I tried on in the stores in terms of quality and comfort for the price. They look well made, are stylishly rugged, and reasonably lightweight for a boot like this. I would expect them to hold up well. They fit me true to size and keep my feet comfortably warm, but not hot. I found nothing quirky like squeaks, chaffing, weird postioning and so forth - just a natural and comfortable fit. Taking them on a hike soon and will update if any issues, but so far very pleased with this purchase.

They're a bit scuffed up after a year's use, but the soles are holding up fine and they're still as waterproof as the day I got them.

You can't go wrong with Timberlands!
Size: 10.5
Color: Medium Grey Nubuck
As with most people one of my foot is slightly larger than the other, and this does pose a lot of problems for me with new footwear. However, I've notice with my newly purchased Timberlands boots they fit well without a problem, now today, Timberlands are my boots of choice these days. I'm sorry it t
ook me so long to join the Timberland party, none-the-less, its always better late than never at all. So if you're in the market for some stylish but durable and comfortable boots, that wouldn't take hours or days to break-in then Timberlands are the only way to go. I've been there and done that with other name brand boots, and I still have the receipts from Amazon to prove it. When it comes to comfortable and stylish boots on my feet, its Timberlands or nothing else for me!

A bit narrow. True to size.
Size: 9.5
Color: Black Full Grain
The old one had size 9 and I worn them for 5 years or more (3-4 month/year). The boots a little bit narrow for me so I couldnt wear winter socks. But any way they were quite warm (5-40F) and very comfortable. Still waterproof (snow, water, etc.)!!! Hoped the new ones (9.5) are wider - no ( Compared o
ld and new ones - found 2 differences: 1. New boots have not so "shiny" leather - hope waterproofing is ok 2. Made in Indonesia (old - in Vietnam). Hope, new ones will be also a best buy!

I've probably bought at least 20 pair of these!
Size: 11
Color: Medium Brown Full Grain
My husband is very picky when it comes to shoes (and he should be - he works outside year around,) so when he finds a shoe or boot he likes, we keep buying the same ones over and over until they are discontinued. We have been buying these for years, and he is super hard on boots and get pretty dirty
(and is sometimes out in awfully rainy weather), and they still hold up pretty well. We do replace them fairly frequently, just so he has support, as he is on his feet for so long at a time. But we have both been pleased with the quality of the boot.

comfortable boot with good support
Size: 12 Wide

These are my first Timberland boots. They are very comfortable still after about a year of almost daily use. It is nice not to have sore feet after working 10 to 12 hours day on your feet. Sore feet just drain all your energy.

I needed work boots that I could also wear out in public. I love these boots so much. They are waterproof and I've jumped in a few puddles to test them. Never once have my socks got wet wearing these. I'd definitely buy these again.
