I spent a long time looking for the right boots and then finally decided to go for these ones. Read all the reviews, looked at the pros and cons and took he plunge. They are fantastic. They are so light that when the box arrived, I thought that there must have been a boot missing. They are comfy straight off, and despite what other people have posted, the quality of the boot is top notch. There are NO problems with the eyelets - they won't fray the THICK laces that came with the boots. There are NO problems with the innersoles - they are not cheap and thin. The boots are extremely warm and will keep you warm in the coldest of days and nights. The soles are fine. Some people have said that you can feel stones through them. Yes you can but it's not a big deal. What you can actually feel are the soles moulding around the stones. They are NOT digging into your foot as I was led to believe by some reviewers, you are merely aware that you have stepped on a stone - that's all - really not a problem at all - and you are only really aware of it when you are stepping on a pebble on a flat path, which is then makes the boot push around it. When walking on a very stony patch, you can't feel a thing. These soles are very similar to another pair of boots that I had that I used for about four years, both hiking and on a motorbike and the lasted for an extremely long time. You won't have a problem. The major thing I would recommend is that you go for half a size bigger. I'm normally a UK 12 but I got the UK 12.5 (US 13W) and I'm really pleased that I did. At this price range, especially with the major discount that are being offered (but even without the discount) you are getting an extremely good boot that will be perfect for all types of long walks and short walks. I wear them all the time because they are so comfortable. They look great, and I am very confident that they are going to last for long enough to make their price worth it. I'm really pleased that I went for them. EDIT:- I took them for their first test yesterday up to a skifield and wore them whenever I wasn't in ski boots. They were fantastic - I would not have known that I was walking upon snow if I couldn't see it. My feet were warm, completely dry and they felt great (especially compared to wearing the ski boots!). I also bought some nikwax leather and fabric proof to give extra waterproofing and I would definitely recommend this to add to your boots before you tke them anywhere - it should keep your boots extra safe for a lot longer. ... show more

Second update. Product support window closed on December 21, 2024 I reached out with a request to Timberline on December 12, 2024. I never heard anything back so now I noticed that the productUpdate December 12, 2024, so I continued to wear the old ones as I didn’t want to get the new ones dirty. I only wore these out to stores and such, but I began warring wearing them now and the sole is already separating. my daughters Timberland newer ones as well. Also had a sole separate on them. I glued them back. I figured it was a fluke but the other one separated I’m glued it back. I’m going to glue these back, Simply I don’t want to lose my investment, but I would not buy Timberland again. Unless Timberland decides to read this and send me another pair as I am very disappointed hopefully others are not having the same experience. I have worn Timberland for years the last pair I bought was around 2016 so I got about 8 years out of it. I don’t wear them every day I wear them hiking and working in the yard and hunting and things like that but they’ve always been very good at waterproofing, traction and top notch in comfort. I was just gonna get another pair of timberlands. I ordered them from Academy. I always wear eight they were too narrow read the reviews on Amazon, others complain about them being narrow so I purchased an eight. Yes they are narrow compared to my others. I also got a Nortiv8 and Columbia MR something. Timberland size 8 1/2 now fits me like 8 used to and I haven’t grown. Timberland compared to the Columbia and the Nortiv8. There was a huge difference the Columbia newton ridge while it had had 27,000 reviews and most of them are good. they must’ve been paid for those reviews. because the shoes weren’t sturdy definitely not a hiking shoe. maybe a knock around the yard shoe but the soul is very soft hollow has air pockets in the show sole. you could push it in with your finger. so I can only imagine how weak it would be on sharp stones and in rough rocky terrain. it wouldn’t work well. The Nortiv8 looks and seems quite well made especially for the price of 50.00. But I was unsure of the waterproofing ability. The comfort, fit and thickness of the soul were much better than Colombia but we’re not up to where the Timberland quality. I kept the Timberland at $75 more than the Nortiv but they feel fit and wear so well and I’m confident in the waterproof ability as I’ve had them for 20+ years ... show more
