Best bang for your buck quality hat for general outdoors activities where both coverage and breathability is required. My unit was made in China but all materials and construction is of high quality. Stitching is uniform and error free Cord system is terrific for retention. Inner pocket holds ID, a fifty, and a few emergency cannabis cigarettes. No reason to mess around with off brand or Amazon famous lesser brands. This hat may cost double but MORE than worth it. Brim is quality constructed and has just the right of structure and rigidity. There is literally nothing to be disappointed with in this hat at this price. This hat is all but perfect for most days except excruciuatingly hot ones. I'd say this hat is great up to about 90F and just good above that temp. . Above 90F I'd suggest going with Outdoor Research Subriolet or Sun Runner hats although I'd still wear my Tilley if I had nothing else. Tilley has so far survived their decision to manufacture in China and that should not disuade you from a quality standpoint at least. ... show more

Is this hat fantastic? Yes. Is it made in Canada? No. I thought all Tilley hats were made in Canada, but I was wrong and didn’t look at the details when purchasing. It’s still a great hat (hence the 5 stars), but I really wish more companies would keep their production local. I’d pay some extra dollarbucks for a North American-made hat. I purchased the Tilley LTM6 Airflo about 2 weeks ago and it has quickly become my favorite hat. I chose the olive color, because I think it looks great. The hat itself is extremely good-looking for what it is, and has a bit of an Indiana Jones vibe. Living in the Palm Springs California area, where temps reach 115f and above in the summer, it's important to keep your dome cool. The LTM6 is a broad brimmed hat with mesh ventilation. It's fairly light, though to be honest, for a quick trip outside I will sometimes just grab an ultralight bucket hat. But when I'm going to be under the sun for any significant amount of time, the Tilley is my go-to. The broad brim shades my ears and neck. As other reviewers have mentioned, it's possible to tuck the two cords into the secret pocket to get them out of the way, though it's slightly awkward, and creates a small lump inside the hat. My only (very small) gripe is that I don't particularly need the 2nd cord (extra boot lace), and it's a little bit in the way. My husband loves this hat for golfing! His doctor recommended it because, in addition to sun protection it allows him to get some air circulation around his head when it's hot out. We carefully measured his head before ordering, so it's also a perfect fit.
