Most of them I saw for sale were fairly high priced in my size. (I'd see a cheaper price, but the color or size would be wrong) Finally I found what I wanted (price, size and color) from Great Lakes Outpost! Tilley hats are well made and long-wearing! I've worn mine for those 10+ yrs. doing everything from off-shore fishing to mowing the lawn, sporting events and backyard BBQ's. This particular model (LTM5 airflow) I like because the side brim is slightly less wide than the front and back brim, just a look that I prefer. And the chin/nape strap really helps to keep it on your head, no matter which way the wind is blowing! Expensive but worth the cost because of their quality and fit. The online size chart changed when production moved from Canada to China, so one less star. The size of your new Tilley made in China will be smaller than your old Tilley made in Canada.

I had this hat for several years and went hiking in Yosemite and lost it. I was so sad, it was my good friend. So, I purchased another one. This one is a ladies and the brim is not at big. Still fits great. They wash great too. If you want the bigger brim, purchase a mans hat in same style.

Five stars for the hat because Tilley makes quality and the LTM5 is no exception. To see a $100 hat, which to me is a lot of money for a hat, arrive literally scrunched into a ball and shoved into a plastic bag was a disgrace. There are folds and creases everywhere that I am not sure will come out. I’m not one to write reviews, so I wasn’t thinking ahead enough to take photos at the time the package arrived. The photo I’ve attached is from the day after delivery and it already looks 1000% better; HOWEVER, this sucker is brand new so I expect the zero-creased, perfectly smooth look that would match the photo displayed on Amazon. The brim of this hat is wavy and misshapen and the sides are sloppy and collapsed. As I said: folds and creases everywhere. Extremely disappointed with how my hat was treated in packaging and Tilley should be disappointed as well. ... show more

Had to go down a size from a 7 5/8 in a Tilly ltm6 to a 7 1/2 in the ltm5 satisfied with both hats but the 7 5/8 was just a little to big in the ltm5 .

This is a top quality hat that fits my needs. I expect to get many years of wear with this hat. The smaller size does limit the amount of sun that is blocked. So if you want to maximize the sun blockage - get the larger brim size.
