  • Sized accurately, comfy, warm, nice!
Color: Next Camo G2 Size: 9
I bought these insulated boots after freezing my toes off (almost literally) in my uninsulated Muck boots in my deer blind with two pairs of wool socks on last week. Temps were single digits up to teens and twenties the last two hunting sits. The camo on these Tidewe boots looks great. I don’t believe camo is necessary in most hunting scenarios but I like it anyway. My feet are size 9, wide. I usually buy sneakers that are 9.5 to allow for socks, and need arch support. I can do without the arch support on a hunting day though. I was conflicted on whether to order size 9 or 10 in these boots, even after measuring my foot length and comparing to the sizing chart insole length. My bigger foot measured 10-5/8 inches long, or 10.625 inches. Size 9 boots say 10.6” and size 10 say 10.9”. I ordered size 9 and they fit great with a single pair of thick wool socks on. Two pairs is doable but very snug and not ideal. There is plenty of room in the toe box with my wide feet. These fit / are shaped differently than muck boots. These hug the top of my feet right in the bend of the boot leg into the foot area. That said, it’s something I noticed at first because it’s different from my Muck boots. But it’s not uncomfortable so I’m keeping them. The thoughtful design is appreciated where the boots transition from rubber (?) to neoprene (?), making them much more comfortable to walk in. The buckles and straps to adjust the closure of the boot top is nice as well, to keep cold and snow outside. The lugs on the back of the boot heel to assist with removal are a nice touch, but are kinda slippery and that’s while the boots are inside and dry. They will be more slippery when muddy or wet. Wearing these inside for the past 45 minutes with one pair of wool socks, and my house thermostat set at 64, my feet are toasty! I can’t wait to take these out to the field and experience greater comfort while hunting for freezer meat. The boots do have a tire store rubber smell out of the box but I expect this is normal for the materials used and will dissipate over time. In my area, I don’t anticipate it affecting a hunt until the odor is gone. I do have overrun glue on one boot but I’ll trim it off. ... show more

These warm, comfortable, and waterproof TideWe boots are some of the best boots I have owned to date. My only thing, and I would even say complaint, is the size. I recommend to order 1 size below your true size. So say your tennis shoe size is a 10, make sure to get an 9 in these boots. Even with medium to thick socks they still seem a little big. The boot shapes to your foot and leg snug even 1 size too big and my foot still doesn't fall out at all even when walking. The outside material is just right. Thick and sturdy enough to withstand the woods, but not too tough that they’re a pain to walk in. The 800g of insulate keeps them warm and comfortable. 10 out of 10 highly recommend. Just remember to order 1 size under your true size! ... show more

  • Warm, well made and good traction.
My trusty "Swamp Walkers" finally wore out two years ago. Last year I replaced them with "The Rut" and they split apart at a seam. So I thought I would give these a try. We got a good snow so I wore them out hunting this morning. These are quite comfortable and warm. I am not sure about the "buy a size smaller" advice I see here though. I wear an 8 and normally buy a 9 in hunting boots to accommodate heavy socks, following reviews here I bought an 8. Though they fit well I think I am going to wish I had a bit more room for my heaviest level of socks. These have great treads and I like how the rubber goes most of the way up but the last 3 inches or so is soft (the hard rubber tops usually cut into my calves). The lug on the heel is a must for me, super easy to step on it and slide your foot out. If I had to suggest one thing, it would be to have "handle" holes in the upper portion to make them every so slightly easier to carry. Based on day one of hunting I am quite happy with these boots. ... show more

  • Very warm and as good as the most expensive boots
Order a size smaller. I am consistently a size 10 for most shoes but the first pair of these I ordered were size 10 and were definitely too big. I returned them and got a pair of 9s and they are great. There is still room for thicker socks or a second pair of socks. I would say I have normal sized feet for a 25 year old, not super wide, not super narrow. As far as how warm they are, they are extremely warm. I went hiking and truging around snow out here in Idaho at night (around 20 deg f) and my feet were actually a little too warm. I am a bit more of a warm blooded person so most people would probably be fine, but my feet were legit sweating a bit. I think it is also important to note that my feet were a consistent temp throughout, not cooler on the toes that I could tell. They are a little bulky, but not sure you can expect anything less for boots this warm. Perfect for hunting in cold weather. They are completely waterproof throughout. My only complaint besides them being mis-sized is that there is a little strap on the top of the boot to help tighten it against your leg and I wish it could tighten more. The range of adjustment is not as much as I would like. Other than that, I would totally recommend them. They are super comfortable to hike in and fit very well(when sized down). ... show more
